PL deadlift vs Strongman deadlift

I've been watching this strong man deadlift competition and I know they are very different than a PL deadlift cuz they can use straps and hitch them but the difference in technique really interests me the biggest difference is how low the strong men sink then start the lift while their quads are below parallel which I believe causes more glute and hamstring activation. And what I'm trying to ask is is this something I could apply to my PL training? Or would I just be wasting my time?
