Phera Plex 1-AD tough question

Hey.....This is a complicated topic but any or all help would be appreciated

I am a college football player entering my 5th and final year. Last year i hurt my ankle and kept playing on it all season only to find out i had osteochondral defect in it along with a high ankle sprain. Middle of april i finally got it fixed undergoing Microfracture surgey on it. Last friday i had a check up and found that what area that they drilled is almost completely filled in with fibro-cartilage(?) which will now convert back to real cartilage. I am now walking after going 6 weeks non-weight baring and in another 6 weeks will be playing football again.

Now coming to my question......
Going through this whole process i have not been able to lift or do much at all. At me prime last year i was 190 a little over 5% bf and very very fast. Now i am not half of what i was. I am now cleared to begin lifting again and i am looking into something to get me back to where i was. I have previously done a small 1-ad cycle followed by 6oxo PCT a 2 years ago. Currently i am taking cissus RX to adress the problem along with cell fuel and glucosamine.

Im looking into a 3-4 week phera plex cycle or a cycle of Ergo 1-AD(i have 3 botttles left).
I wanted to see your input on me taking PP or 1AD while recovering from this procedure?(especially being at the point that i am at now)
And could you suggest one of the other and a sample cycle(which i would like to keep around 4 weeks with wat i would like to be no neg sides)

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks alot

I think it would be far more beneficial for your development to rebuild your base to a point in which you feel confident, then supplement. Some people may disagree, but IMO you should get back into the full swing of things, slowly progressing back to your original weights before you cycle. If not, you are setting yourself up for other injuries.

I agree. Believe me, you will gain on PP or 1AD and get too big, too strong too fast and hurt yourself again. Like on Friday Night Lights, that football movie, haha, it is not worth it

Heel to 110% then supplement. You would be amazed at what you can accomplish naturally... your previous weight/BF is awesome, get back there!

We aren't in your shoes. We don't know if you have a shot at Da League. We don't know if you could legitimately play NFL Europe or CFL and make Da League later if you don't get drafted after this year.
So, IMO we really can't make a good decision for your situation (for the average Joe we usually can).

I'm gonna say that if I were in your shoes and I played for The U (my team :head: ) and I had a shot at the NFL - I'd do Phera Plex (if that's all you've got at this point). Superdrol is probably better (only because I have personal experience with it).

You should gain back much of your muscle from muscle memory - but if we are seriously talking $$$$, then time is of the essence to impress the coaches so that you start over some young punk 5 star recruit coming in next month trying to take your starting spot.

But, if the Mel Kiper's of the world don't even know your name - just wait on the muscle memory and forget the androgens. You'll enjoy them more later when you become an old fart like me.

That is just my humble opinion.

Good luck regardless of your decision and kick some azz this fall (unless it's against Miami)!

I agree with JMH. Surely you could get the advise from a team trainer or doc? If you have to keep the PP to yourself, you could pose the question along the lines of 'how long should rehab the ankle before hitting the wieghts hard?'

Do you believe that if i took one or the other at this point in my recovery, i would hinder it.....im asking this because someone suggested that a ph/ps will hinder the recovery ability of cartilage as they usually have negative effects on joints...any input/thoughts on this?

And if i were to do one or the other for no more than 4 weeks which would you suggest?

Some androgens do hinder joint repair.
But, I don't think we know about these particular ones as they haven't been out long enough to have been studied by medical folks.

Dr. D might know.

I'm not famililar with PP. I could only recommend Superdrol since I've used it. It's gains are rapid though - so good luck hiding them from the trainers/fellow players.

I belive i spoke with Dr. D at bodybuilding.com about this and i know he suggested otherwise

I would be eager to see if his beliefs change at all due to the fact that the fibro-cartilage is already there and just needs to convert over(not too sure what happens during this process but i belive he may)

Dr.D any input on this as i have already progressed this far or do you feel that these ph/ps are still no good until the whole process is complete?

Thanks in advance

Generally Speaking, the fibril cartilage will never "convert" over to true cartilage or "hyaline" cartilage. Cartilage is one of the most stubborn areas of the body to heal since it does not have it's own blood supply, so it is dependent on long term and gentle circulatory exercises to "wash" the joint area with nutrients and slowly give it the building blocks to heal somewhat. And when I say slowly, I mean cartilage can take years to heal, and even then the healed portion is generally a rough fibris cartilage patch and not the smooth hyaline cartilage so eventually the increased friction from the rough surface can make the entire joint degrade.

If you decide to supplement with PP to gain back strength, I would take it easy with the leg presses and squats and also with hardcore field exercises and cuts even when you feel like your body is back. Other than that, regular (daily) non-impact circulatory exercises such as cycling can help speed up the rate of cartilage healing as well as of course adequate water and daily glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate administration. This fact is paramount. The more you can circulate nutrients around the damaged area (without damaging it further of course), the faster it can heal.

He's not going to have that luxury here pretty soon. Summer practice should be starting up soon - maybe a week or 2, once the freshman get there.
