Painful HCG shots

I started using HCG last week, and have noticed that each time I've injected HCG subcutaneously it's been a fairly painful experience. This has me confused, as everything I've read on sub-q shots has led me to believe it should be a painless experience.

I've been using 27g pins for these shots, could this perhaps be a bit too big for painless injections? I've noticed that it stings alot when inserting the pin, and then even moreso when injecting the HCG. It hasn't seemed to make any difference whether or not I change the needle after drawing the HCG from the vial either. This certainly isn't a huge issue, as the stinging sensation subsides after a few minutes, but any insights would be great.

lol why not just so with intra muscular shots? a delt shot with a slin pin would be very painless, but either way, i think the prick is painful with a slin needle :) :D

I agree with you on this, I dont know why they hurt, I use 1ml insulin syringes with a 29g needle, so you think it wouldnt hurt at all, but hell, I have a harder time getting that little needle in than I do a 25g in my glute or delt. I always shoot my quads with the hcg, usually go for a IM shot, but if it is hurting like hell getting the needle in I will just shoot it and it may end up subq:) The only thing that I can think of why it hurts is when I shoot the hcg I inject with the same needle I drew with, and so it is a little duller, when I do my oil injections I switch to a new needle so it is much sharper, so I dont know if that is the cause, most likely. I have thought about drawing with a seperate syringe, then the syringe I plan to inject with, pull out the plunger and shoot the hcg down into the barrel of the syringe and put the plunger back in, but I havent done that yet.

Is a half inch pin going to be sufficient for an intramuscular shot?
Yes, just be careful of the placement. And HCG does sometimes hurt in its self. if it bothers you dilute it to about 250iu per .25ml
