p90x for bulking

went in to the gym here at my apts to get a chest/tricep workout in and this guy brought in P-90x and hooked it up to the bigscreen we have. we started talking and i ended up doing the chest workout which consisted of about 12 sets of pushups after i did my flat bench routine. i ended with a couple triceps pushdown sets and the p90x ab routine. ALL OF IT KICKED MY ASS! my triceps are sore as **** like they've never been.

anyways, it this a good way to shock your body from time to time while bulking? as long as i eat enough it won't set me back right? i ask because i hear p90x is mostly about losing fat and cutting up.

As long as your eating more than you are burning, I dont see why it would be a problem.. New routines also do cause hypertrophy.

When I'm bulking I usually start with a Columbu cutting routine which is total upperbody workout (light weight high reps) followed by total leg workout the following day and phase into heavy weights and less reps. I will then throw that same cutting routine in a few times every now and again for something different. It really kicks my ass and makes me feel that more blood is running through the muscle and better oxygen exchange in the muscle from the increased cardio side of being able to throw them around quicker and easier.

well i've been eating my ass off :food: and still pretty sore from the workouts so i think i'll throw them in every couple months or so to change things up. if anyone doesn't know yet, P90-X kicks ass

I'm curious as to if anyone has used this for bulking. I've the same thing it's mostly fat loss and cutting. Lol not what I need at all

In the P90X work out, he mentions some times that if you are trying to gain do only 8 Reps per set and with a heavy weight. If you are loosing do the 10-12 reps with a lighter weight. I have never tried it but one of my friends did with some pretty good results. But your right P90X kicks ASS!!!!

I have not been impressed with the p90x. Seems too fadish to me. I like heavy weights for leaning up and bulking. Sorry guys you want all opinions right?

When bulking you should be hitting heavy weight, with high stets, and high calories. You do not need to do high reps. From what I have seen on the p90x. is that it is about light weight, high reps, and keeping you heart rate up. I think p90x is for cutting, and athletics more than it is for bodybuilding. If you are bulking and for some reason your body is not responding to your routine, then you might try changing up your routine by adding in some of the p90x exorcises. Also if you are lagging in growth for a muscle group, it might not hurt to try new exorcises. I know I have seen a lot of different exorcises in the p90x

i did the 90 days and i lost 30 lbs of fat and got alot more cut. i didnt bench for those 90 days and wen i did after i was practically at the same weight
