This is pretty much what I've heard. Very effective but makes you feel like crap and will have you running to the toilet frequently. Although lots of people take it, so it must not have that effect on everyone... but it does seem fairly common.
 
Just spoke to a friend of the family yesterday that is currently prescribed (also type 2 diabetic). She said she takes a once weekly injection and if she eats beforehand she feels fine, but if she takes the injection on an empty stomach she has a lot of gastro issues about 36hrs later.

No personal experience, just an interesting anecdote I thought may be helpful to some.

I haven't tried it myself but I've seen this happen firsthand with someone I know who has. But like I said, lots of people take it so clearly not everyone has this problem. Also, if you're only taking 0.25mg per week, that is a lower dose than he was on so that could play a role too.
