Overthinking timing around nutraceuticals

Having not really taking any PE supplements since about 30 yrs ago when they all sucked, I'm giving it another run with SNS stuff. My question is around timing. I know this is likely just academic, but I'm curious if there is any science around timing.

1. Is it better to take the effective dose, say 1000mg all at once so possibly a decent amount doesn't get processed right away (as everything has a half life and there are physical limits to how much can be processed). I could argue this makes more sense as there will be a more significant amount in your blood stream to have the desired effect. Possible Negative is less time circulating.

2. Some recommend spreading it out over the course of the day (i.e. 250mg 4x). Possible upside is a more consistent amt circulating throughout the day. Possible downside is they are at too low a threshold to have an effect, or are so quickly broken down you have 4 tiny insignificant spikes.

For Vitamins/minerals, I'm a big believer in spacing them throughout the day, more focused around bigger meals... so maybe a bit heavier around dinner. For all these "natural" anabolics, though I can really convince myself either way.

I'm not losing any sleep over this, and not discussing which is better from a habitual standpoint (i.e. not forgetting doses) but curious of peoples thoughts.

I’ve wondered this as well, your keyword “overthinking”. I don’t know that I’ve noticed a huge difference either way with most things. Although I still split most things up other than things that might have more of a direct benefit preworkout.

Just take based on the labels. There’s not going to be a blanket answer as it will vary depending on the ingredient and purpose.

it all varies what ingredient you are talking about.
majority yes get in your system whether its split into 2doses or one dose.
most wont be able to guzzle down 8-12caps at once .. or lose motivation to do so like you might do it for one week or so .. but there will come a time when you look at it and say fck it not doing it

splitting for me always has worked the best .. esp if it provides some pre workout or post workout benefits .. i would split in morning and then on my later workout timing.

Not sure if this is the right way to do it but I tend to follow the labels as far as spacing and number of doses and aim for an empty-ish stomach unless there are fat soluble ingredients. I take a lot of stuff first thing in the AM 30-60 mins before breakfast. Definitely a dose preworkout if it’s something with performance benefits.

I agree with everyone else as far as not stressing about this but I do think it’s an interesting conversation.

There is no one set answer for this because it can vary by the ingredient, product type, desired results, etc.

As a general rule, I space dosages on most things out to twice per day (8 to 12 hours apart) pesonally.

But there are some things, especially basic health things, that don't necessarily need to be spaced out.
