What workout program would be recommended for a novice? I'm looking to gain mass and strength.

Look into DoggCrapp training.

Probably my most used base template with new clients, modified for their goals slightly but as it is the program is solid to build a foundation.

& eat to grow.

Most people are posting that DC is for advanced lifters only.

I saw that new top result article stating that now, I personally see no issue with DC for a beginner, you can always slightly modify it if any of it is above you.

Have you never touched weights before?
Current routine if any?

I'm thinking about Fierce 5 over on bb.com. Thoughts?

My maintenance calories is ~2200. Was planning to bulk at 2450. For macros was going to do 150g of protein minimum and 60g of fat minimum and just aim for 2450 calories. As a side note I have to work out in the AM.

I have lifted before, but never been consistent with a program.

5/3/1
5x5

Both decent, I'd prefer build some strength foundation before worrying too much over hypertrophy, it will come regardless at first

Stronglifts 5x5 but only squat twice a week not 3 times like it says, or else around week 8 your squat will plateau
