Novarel (HCG) Shortage?????

The pharmacy that has been filling my Novarel (HCG) prescriptions for a year is now telling me they will not fill it for me.

They are telling me that their contract will not allow it as I am not taking it for the proper purpose.

This is even after the manufacturers site says it can be used to treat "Selected cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (hypogonadism secondary to a pituitary deficiency) in males."

Is anyone else experienceing difficulty getting it?

It has been two weeks of me being forced to quit cold turkey and it is affecting me.

If it is not available, what are the alternatives?

I am currently taking T and am concerend about coming off of HCG>

Find a new pharmacy, as that is ridiculous. Try online. Walgreen's should be fine.

CVS charged me $57. Walgreens gave me a quote of $115. Maybe it's different online.

i dont know if costco has novarel, but i hear that sell hCG for $37 or so. my walgreen's is $57 i think. that's at the store.

i had too have my doctor call in personally to a pharmacy and talk to the owner before i could get it. and i have been told its on natl backorder so you just have to look hard to find it...

So maybe this pharmacy is telling the truth....this time.

Anyone know why HCG would be scarce....it is so cheap I can not imagine it is hard to make.

I wonder what is really going on. This isnt the first time big pharma has driven up the price of my meds.

Nor will it be the last. HCG is an incredibly inexpensive med to manufacture and is availible dirt cheap in other countries. Really it is the same for testosterone. The drug companies mark these meds up beyond belief due to there scheduling by the DEA. Before 1994 anabolic steriod contol act testosterone inj was less then $10 per 10cc bottle.

I finally got it filled after about 3 weeks of forced begging.

The price was about $125 for two bottles as the pharmacy filled two at once but I took it because I do not want to go through this again in two months. They also charged $10 for three bags of insulin syringes.

Also, after quitting cold turkey and being off of it for three weeks, my already weak back went out and I am in a lot of pain. I do not think all of this is coincident.

All of this seven days before my once a year vacation to Miami.
