But, to answer your question, they have different mechanisms of action. Letro and Anastro and called aromatese inhibitors (AI) which bind to the estrogen and completely deactivate it. It's called a suicide inhibitor. Nolvadex is a SERM or selective estrogen receptor modulator. It prevents estrogen from binding to the receptor.
I wouldn't take an anti-estrogen unless you start experiencing the first signs of gyno. Nolva is cheap and would work fine for this. However, if you want to totally prevent estrogen throughout your cycle (not recommended) an AI is your best option.
