Niners win 28 to 25 (yes it's news).

I bet the 49er organization is regretting sighning Barlow to a contract. Reggie Bush is a good runner but it's his receiving skills which make him an offensive weapon.

True. Bush would be a great option for Smith out of the backfield. With Smith's mobilty and the fact that he's still very young, they should try going back to the west coast offense that worked so well for Young. And how about B. Young; the guy has 8 sacks this year which he is tied for the lead in along with 2 other guys.

I can't say enough good things about Bryant Young. He just tears **** up on the field, goes about his business, provides great veteran leadership, doesn't bitch about his contract, and recovered from one of the worst leg injuries in recent NFL history.

Unfortunately, as it sits, Leinart is going to GB or the Texans IMO. QBs are worth more than RBs right now IMO (there's so many good RBs in the NFL -- and multiple good ones on many teams)

But the Packers have Rodgers and the Texans have Carr. I don't see either of those teams going after a QB when they need so much more. It looks like Leinart might go later on in the draft, perhaps to the Browns who have nobody at QB and seem to be fighting for one of the top draft picks. There are others to consider, but the Browns seem like the best bet at this point.

dogg, I'm gonna get you some new Niner gear for Christmas as well as your AM gear wish list. Just make sure you're not naughty for the next 2 months.

love,

Sweet. I need some USC gear too. I'm in South Carolina right now and wanna show these bitches who the real USC is.

LOL. Once again, the Rams fall to the pathetic Niners. Last year it was Arizona. This year, St.Louis. The only way for the Niners to get the first pick in the draft now is to lose to the Texans next week. Here's hoping.

That was a good win today Niner fans, I liked the way Gore and Hicks ran, screw Barlow, cut his overpaid ass. Alex Smith played much better. The 49ers won't need Reggie Bush if Gore and/or Hicks keep it up.

Smith did have a decent game. 12 for 16 and no picks. He was also sacked 5 times which brings me to my next point. If Gore does continue to do well, the Niners might want to focus on building an decent O-Line instead. Then again, I have no idea what really good O-Lineman will be available in next years draft. Anyone?

D'Brickshawn Ferguson is the only Offensive Lineman worth a shot with a high pick. They desperately need a pass rusher who can remid us of Charles Haley too !

Ok, so if the 49ers lose, they still would need the Packers, Saints and Jets to win plus help from others. Basically, the Texans need to lose to get the first pick. If they win and the Saints lose, the Saints get the first pick. The Packers, the Jets and finally the Niners are next in line. This is all based on a record and strength of schedule. So who do we pick Niners fans now that Bush is pretty much out of reach?

The whole damn team needs to be addressed. O-Line for sure. Defense period. IW, thoughts?

2 game winning streak. Right on. Smith had another ok game. Gore ran for a hundred and Hicks was about 30 yards short of a hundred. D played ok against a bad team. Gotta look for the positives. You're right IW, I see Ferguson in our future. In fact, Mel Kiper has him going 5th in the draft and that's where the Niners happen to be sitting (I'm pretty sure they are).

I don't think so.
On Sportscenter, they didn't have us in the top 5.

We may not have a chance at Ferguson unless we trade up.

What's up Iron Warrior. Invalid Link Removed

Sorry, had to considering they only won 2 games last year and they're already halfway there in just week 1 of the season. Super Bowl XL here we come. Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

You still dancing Nate? Didnt think so!!! Go Seahawks!!!

Yeah, having the 6th pick usually isn't good.

Drafts seem to be star heavy only to the 5th pick typically. Some drafts can go to the 6th or 7th. So, we could be in some trouble.

I'd advocate trading down - we need sooooooo much help and I don't think we'll get it with the 6th or 7th pick. We need another 1st to pick up a player for both lines.

Just wait until your Seapigeons get bitch slapped out of the playoffs. By whom, not sure yet. But just wait. Then you'll be sorry.

To be honest I dont expect my hawks to even make it to the SB. First they need to win a playoff game. It has been a little while for them to not cave under pressure. We will see.

They won twice as many games as last year so...

Yeah, I'm still dancin'. :D

I'd take the first pick over 4 wins anyday. Good way to blow it guys

I agree dogg.

I can't believe we made that kick. That was rediculous.

But, the 'Aints would have gotten the first pick had the Texans won yesterday.

49ers lost the coin flip to the Raiders so we have the 7th pick. It's a shame the 49ers will not be able to resign all of their linebackers(Julian Petrson,Andre Carter,Derek Smith,Brandon Moore, and Saleem Rasheed) who are free agents next year. Jeff Ulbrich is the only one who is signed. I'm hoping the team will work something out w/Derek Smith.

Any team picking Leinart is in for a BIG surprise. He's going to STINK big time in the pros. He MIGHT be better than Cade McNown... maybe... ok, he's better but barely. He's had so much talent around him that no matter what he did he was going to look MUCh better than he really was.

Stupid Niners... 7th.... sigh.... personally I still like Barlow -- with an attitude adjust ment that is. He's too cocky and too comfortable. I really believe there's a great back but he needs to grow up and get his passion back like when he was splitting carries.

A healthy Gore is a helluva player too. Go NINERS!

Please Alex Smith, please grow into a good QB... please.....

I think he is a good pick. He shows that he is gonna do what it takes to win. He is patient and does what is needed. He never gets down on himself after shitty games which he has had this year. I think anyone who gets him will be pleased.

Yeah, with that great secondary that proved so good last weekend huh!
Are you on fucking crack?

You think their core played last week?

they stuck receiver Muhsin Muhammad, safety Mike Brown, cornerback Charles Tillman, defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer and nose tackle Ian Scott on the inactive list.

Brown and Tillman.. there's your secondary right there.

****, you're on glue.

But, since you think the Bears played it out hard... what's more worrisome is the Seahawks loss to the Packers. Talk about a team in trouble. lol

Wow, did I strike a nerve or what? lol, didnt there two cb get hurt like 2 weeks ago? Not sure, but not trying to start one of those great internet wars either. Sorry, yeah, the bears are gonna win the SB. Back to the glue I go. Retard!

Don't forget the crack you ghetto whore :D

Seriously, I just hate to see stupidity in comments. I'm not saying they are going to win the SB. All I'm saying is Seattle has a chance to be beaten and the Bears seem like the logical choice at this point given their D.

Its exciting times!

The problem is that is all they got is D. If they ( D ) doesnt put up atleast 14 the game is over. I dont think that seattle will throw an overwhelming amount due to SA amount of success. Unless Urlacher lays a big one, they cant beat um!!!

I really think that Frank Gore can get back close to what he was as a frosh at Miami in 2001.
He was probably the best frosh RB we've EVER had. Dude averaged over 9 yards/carry.

He needs to lose some weight and just get more time to get back to the cutting/slashing runner he was then.
He'll never be quite the same, but I think he can get close.

What in the hell are we gonna do with the 7th freaking pick?

Good God.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson will be gone by then (the Packers?) - might as well get another 1st round pick and trade down to the middle of the round.

I saw that Antonio Cromartie from FSU is turning pro. I really, really like him. He was a damn good CB before his ACL tear. I'd like to see the Niners pick him up. He'd go great with Mike Rumph (another 6'+ CB).

Check it out. Ferguson didn't even make SI's first team All-American. Maybe the Niners do have a shot at a really good O-Lineman. There are some good ones in there.

He's got some great moves. He's not quite as big as other OL's. He's like 295 lbs. So, he's much more mobile than these 360 lbs. double cheeseburger loving MF'ers.

And probably much less likely to die of a heart attack from being such a fat ass. Hehe.

Good point, I'd rather francise Smith than Peterson. Smith is a great player, doesn't get any credit because he plays on a bad team. Peterson just gets hurt too often and is weak against the run. People, say "he can cover tight ends and rush the QB" IMO if you rely on a LB to cover and rush then you're in big trouble so who cares. Saleem Rasheed is a poor man's Peterson and won't cost much, I still can't freakin believe they traded Winborn !

I like Gore, he's the RB of the future if he stays healthy. Barlow has been too much of a puss and too inconsistant.

Well there is a lot of shot to address. Most critical IMO are WR, DE, CB. We still need a great receiver. I'm tired of hearing about people who think Lloyd is awesome, he's a decent #2 but that's it. He makes awesome catches but his production ain't stellar. You also need a DE who can put the fear of God in a QB so you won't have to blitz in order to get pressure, we tought Carter would be this player but he hasn't been. We have decent CB's but they're hurt all the time. The last thing we need is to pick up scrubs from waivers every other week. I don't believe we need to go after every OT at this point because we commited to Jonas Jennings at LT and have Kwame Harris at RT. We also drafted Baas and Snyder last year, they made progress throughout the year.

At this point, I'd trade down a little, get a WR or DE with my 1st pick, or a CB if a great one is still around.
