New Metallica People - "The Day That Never Comes!"

i thought they tried too hard. it wasnt raw enough.

Yeah that's a good way to put it. Many metal bands lose their edge when they get older and successful. They end up having to force out an edge to their music and it usually ends up on the flat side. Too bad but yeah, there's always their old material.

.......are u ****ing kidding me this album is a masterpiece.
i disagree.
dream theaters "six degrees of inner turbulence" is a masterpiece, opeths "deliverance" is a masterpiece. necrophagists "epitaph" is a masterpiece, and neuraxis's "the thin line between" is a masterpiece. metallica has their masterpieces too, but this isnt one of them. this is all my opinion though. feel free to disagree.

Dream theatre is great and a completely different type of metal. Metallica is going for a combination of thrash/stadium/and ballad metal while dream theatre is straight in your face progressive. I love dream theatre and metallica but they are two totally different monsters and they are both masterpieces in their sub genres respectfully. I like disagreeing if people didn't disagree the world would be boring! lol

good point, i just didnt get that effect from this album. it didnt impress me enough. it was over produced.

I bought this morning... I'm enjoying immensly compared to St. Anger. Hell, it's produced by Rick Rubin, and he's a freaking legend!

I agree, great fing album. If your Metallica fan and dont buy this cd you making a mistake. the songs that have been released before it came out are not even the best songs on the cd. Seriously get this cd. 1st 3 songs are the a great start to this cd.

Ya great song also. You think seeing that song on the cd you say to yourself BS their screwing up again, but no way. Just an awesome album, well done on their part.

Yeah i know what you mean. I honestly think all 3 versions of unforgiven are great in their own right. The album is well done on all fronts imo. THANK GOD.......metallica is back!
