New Member Questions Testosterone and Arimidex

Hello,
I am 54 yrs. old and have been using Androgel for a few years and my Doctor just switched me to injections last month after my total Test score was 128! The gel seemed to work at first but slowly lost its value. He first gave me 200mg and retested 3 weeks later with no bump in score but I did have better libido and erections. So he went to 300 mg twice a week and we are waiting on retest score. I asked him about checking estrogen levels but he just dismissed me saying that was for athletes and all that. I have some minor soreness in my nipples so I expect my estrogen is to high. And my libido is not that strong and I just had a shot Wed. I ordered some Nettle root, and chryslin and DIM-plus from evitamins and some liquid arimidex from Research Chemicals USA. Has anyone used these sites and do you think the Arimidex is safe? I have read here that .5mg twice a week of the arimidex is a good starting does. How do you take the Ariumidex, under the tongue? And any suggestions would really be appreciated by me and my wife!
 
Blood reaches plasma level in 5 weeks not 3 weeks after one shot. Find another Dr because this guy is uneducated in HRT point blank,
 
Thank You Matrix, Yes he is my Primary care and a bit older but at least he is getting me the Testosterone, some doctors won't even do that. And I will be getting a new Doctor. I just got my test results back today and my Total Test is still 167! This is after years of Androgel and now three shots two weeks apart. The last two 300mg. This last test was two weeks after a 300mg shot. but six weeks after the first shot. Surely my body must be converting the test to estrogen. I got the Anastrozole and the supplements today. Is it safe to take .5 mg of the Arimidex? It is liquid and comes with a dropper that has .5 and 1mg dose lines. And with the other supplements do I use them also or just one at a time?

Modulation of t shots of 2-3 times.weekly will.help control.custodial rollercoaster ride
 
Thanks, With all this Test i have been given and a score of 167, do you think I might have an problem with conversion to estrogen? Are these supplements good for that if I don't want to use the arimidex, or do you think the arimidex is better at low dose, say .5 2-3 times a week? I really appreciate your help.

I think if your Dr would adminster it properly then you may have better plasma levels like 600-700 like other people. 200 mgs every 3 weeks will put you if lucky about 200 if that. I would fire your DR and get a dr you will make the proper adjustements so you do not have to be a huge rollercoaster ride. 300 mgs will peak about 2800 48 hours after injection and in 2 weeks be down to 400-500 another week you are looking around 1before next shot. This guy is going to give you 300 mgs 2 times a week ? He's off his rocker and is putting you in a dangerous position. Most likely it is going to e2, but you need to get with a competent Dr since this guy does not seem to understand proper HRT protocols.
 
No, he has been giving me 300 every two weeks, but after my last test he wrote he wanted to go to 400 every other week. I want to go at least every week at between 100-200. I took .5 mgs of liquid arimidex last night and was going to take another .5 tomorrow, i honestly feel a little better after 24hrs on the arimidex, is that possible? I know you recommend shots 2-3 times a week. but is weekly OK? And if I get my estrodial under control can I use the supplements instead of the arimidex?

Weekly is not ok if you are going through testosterone that fast or its converting. You are still on a rollercoaster ride.
 
OK, Just so I understand. If I have my shots 2-3 times a week I wont convert as fast or much? And could you inform me how a man on TRT would use an AI differently from a bodybuilder? Thanks Always
 
Im sorry to keep harping on this also, but are any of the supplements I mentioned in my first post good for AI, or anything else for that matter?

You are not using HRT for bodybuilding purpose but to be able to enjoy a better quality of life. The more test the more AI is needed. When guys are running 2-3 grams of test they require 1 mgs of armidex a day to help keep e2 in check.
 
Thanks, I bought liquid Arimidex from an online research site. ( hope it is safe) and started at .5 EOD. Until I get a better Doc that does my testing right and dosage timely, do you think I should go slow on the AI until I get a better Doc, or go ahead at 1mg daily.
 
Definately Go slow on the AI as going with larger doses to frequently will cause you miss the sweet spot, then you'll be to low. I started .5mg E3D for 2 weeks to get rid of the higher E2 production, then after the adex got that in check & my body burned off the excess floating E2, I dropped it to .25mg E3D & I'm doing pretty good with that.

One 1mg can drop you e2 in literally half over a 48 peroid, but be prepared for a horrible rebound effect if you are not consistant and properly monitered. When working with Dr's I have them make sure t have proper estradiol test completed to get proper results as well as a list of the symptoms a person may be experienice. Depending on the situation, the amount of AI will vary for individual since every one system is not the same.

Thanks Guys, Jarhead, How much test are you using? You are bigger than I am but not by that much. Like Matrix said evryone is different but just trying to get a feel for this.
 
I am currently using 100mg Test per week. I break it up into two 50mg pins a week to stay more 'regular' and not roller coaster.
 
Sorry, forgot to include: the 100mg a week of Test keep my levels around 770-820, and my E2 WAS around 37-42 with no AI. Now with the AI, I'm still around the 770-820 free test & E2 sitting about 19-22....and feeling pretty good.

Where are you getting these e2 measured at? What lab and where is SHBG?
 
Thanks again, Jarhead0724, are you on TRT or just for bobybuilding? I am 54, are you close in age? I haven't started to inject myself but will as soon as Doc. helps me. He said he would. Do you use insulin needles with that low dose? What AI do you use and your dose? If I'm too nosy just say so! Thanks
 
Impeccable- I am 31 & am on TRT. I'm an active duty marine & apparently post concussive blasts from multiple IED's in Iraq were enough to mess me up; so here I am. Me personally, I use 27g, 5/8" needles for pinning & unfortunately my tricare referred Endo doesn't have me on Rx AI so I got some from a research company.
 
First! Thank You for your sacrifice and service. I also got my AI from a research site (Anastrozole). I am taking .5 mg from the liquid dropper EOD. It's been a week now and I can really feel the difference. Before the AI, I could get a shot of test and really not feel much. It's ben 10 days since my last injection but with the AI I feel as if I got a shot a couple days ago. Now I just need to get labs for E2, my doctor thinks it's not needed!
 
Well good! That's great your feeling better, just remember to not go to low or you'll feel the same way you did before, coupled with dry, achy joints and not even Viagra will get you up. Oh & you'll feel even better of you pin 2 times a week. Talk to your doc about it. Mine said no self injections at first, even after I showed her med documents showing more frequent pinning keeps plasma levels more stable. But after I asked her then why do docs prescribe some medications (pain pills mostly) to people & they can go home & take them whenever they want; some even abusing them to get high, but I can't take TRT at home?? Now I pin at home....
