Never posted here before. I'm 19 and started lifting February '12. By June I was at 415 dead, 225 bench and 300 squat

This April I hit a 275 bench, 495 deadlift and 315 squat (sprained knee, squat took a ****) all at 185

No idea if that pic uploaded or not but that's 495 dead, awful ****ing angle though , looks like 405

Your squat only went up 15 lbs in 10 months?

And why is that dude standing right the hell in front of you?

Welcome

What's your training? Upcoming meet?

Feel free to post anything up. We all critique the **** out each other

Thanks Sean. No upcoming meet, never done one. I most likely will at some point. Never followed a program, I've spent the last month focusing on my lacking squat, thinking about giving 5/3/1 a go in a few days, or Carter's strong 15

5/3/1 would be excellent for a beginner. Highly encourage you to buy his E-Book for 20 bucks on Jim Wendler's website. It's worth it. Powerliftingwatch.com has a list if meets by state.

Thanks for tip man, ill give it a shot and hopefully get to a meet one of these days

Make it soon, dude! Nothing more motivating than training for a meet. Plus, you never know what you'll learn. Maybe some old guy will fix your technique between attempts or you'll find a crew to train with. You never know. Not to mention it's a ****ing blast.

Welcome to our happy little dark corner of the site, known to the outsiders as the "Powerlifting Section".

Nice lifts man you are making good progress. Welcome. 5/3/1 would be great for you as you seem to be getting to an intermediate level of lifting.
