Negative experiences with 3ad or Lcarnitine?

Just started both a few weeks ago, mostly for the mental and energy boost aspects I’ve read about for both. Started 3ad about a week before carnitine, using two pumps topical in AM and 1 50mg capsule about 1 hr pre WO. Carnitine is 2 pumps topical AM and 2 caps propionyl and 2 caps tartrate pre. Have not noticed anything energy or mental wise. If anything I feel more stressed and less positive. Could be life but haven’t really had a lot of negative things in life lately.

Last Monday my strength on bench felt way down. Thought maybe I was accumulating fatigue so I took the rest of the week easy. Today my strength felt even more down, not so much lack of energy but muscles feels fatigued and strength just isn’t there. Hit 350 on bench about a month ago, and today 5x5 at 225 was all I felt like pushing safely.

Not sure if it’s the supps, could be accumulating fatigue, but seems like a major drop in strength in a very short period of time. Just trying to rule out any possibility. Thinking maybe one or both could be ridding excess water and possibly causing the fatigue feeling? Just a hypothesis. Currently on test about 200mg/week, and 12.5 mg mk677 on training days. No significant changes to diet or training. Planning on discontinuing use of both for a few weeks to see if there’s any improvement. Just curious if anybody else has had an experience like this with either

I’ve stacked Iconic Formulations Ultra Three (3 AD) and XPG L Carnitine gel, both topical, and applied both pre-workout, 75mg 3AD and 200mg L Carnitine, and on 150 mg a week Test. Didn’t have any negative side effects, very noticeable positive vibe and mental clarity, feel good, decent strength gains, and a true recomp of cutting some fat and at least adding maybe some more density and vascularity in muscle, but I was eating maintenance and not dieting or bulking. I actually did lose 5 to 7 lbs so the combo definitely speeded up metabolism with the mental boost. I’ve used both at separate times… 3 AD is mild and I wouldn’t say is a muscle builder, but more helps mental focus, positive vibe, metabolism, and probably would help preserve muscle on a cut. Of course L Carnitine has many benefits and is known to help metabolism, endurance, and carb utilization. I know some can get a hypoglycemic effect with topical L Carnitine, but I consume carbs pre, intra, and post workout unless on a strict cut.
I’m not sure what could be causing that for you. What brands do you have of both? Eliminating them a couple of weeks to see if that helps is worth it. Have you ever taken 3 ad before?

Used 3ad in the past, but with other things so couldn’t get a feel for what it was doing. Both then and now I’m using iconic formulations 3ad, and the carnitine is xpg. I consume plenty of carbs daily, only time I’m not usually having carbs is first thing in the morning, kind of just have some coffee and water until about 2 hours into work. Otherwise I’m having carbs pre post and intra as well.

Going to skip both of them starting today, see how I’m feeling the next week or two. I wouldn’t really think either of them would cause this kind of issue but with basically no other variables changed it’s kind of an odd coincidence.

Carnitine isn't related, that part I'm certain of.
But I get "prohormone fatigue" running big cycles of epiandro and going balls to the wall every session. It does improve my output moderately, but also leaves me with that 'puppy dog' fatigue like a growing puppy that wants to sleep all the time.

without knowing your training or nutrition, it sounds like lack of recovery. the 3-ad could cause some anxiety issues (you said stress). I have been there with epi, and found that half doses for a couple weeks then ramping up was the solution.

I was wondering that as well, as earlier this year I tried some epi and had major fatigue and anxiety issues. I know 3ad isn’t a direct dht compound, but thought possibly it may be giving me the same effect as I had with epi as many people say it’s a similar feeling

This is a tough one. 3ad has always made me a decent amount stronger, even before I was on TRT. It is more androgenic than anabolic however so I would say that it is certainly within the realm of possibility that you are overtraining on it and may be in need of some increased calories and a deload week
