Ok I have been working out for a while now but I usually workout with my friends or with coaches from football and now that Im in college Im a bit lost with what I should be doing. Right now I weight around 185 Im 6 foot tall and I have no idea what my bf% is if I where to guess it would be somewhere in the mid 20s. My goal right now is to get cut and then after I start to get the results I want I plan on building my strength back up.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

Personally, I do not know why they would have to be separated really. I hear lots of guys saying they wanna do a cut, then a clean bulk!? Maybe I am from the dark ages, but I cannot see why you just can't eat better/cleaner slowly over time shedding excess BF and also keep adding small amounts of weight to bar on the big exercises over cycles and slowly transforming one's body!?
Unless a trainee is so close to their natural strength/mass potential (in the big 5-7 compounds), I cannot see why one cannot do hard progressive work on the compounds, adding lean mass and strength while at the same time losing some overall BF.
A good standard 5x5 or the likes, with a bit of added cardio/basketball/biking/swimming/whatever, perhaps on a few off days.

I believe the physical education department of most colleges have BF testing available for free or a nominal fee. Check that out if you want to zero in on your BF.

right now my workouts consist of 3 sets of light weight of about 30 reps and I also do 30 minutes of cardio every day. as far a my diet goes well I know it sucks I usually don't eat until around 2 pm and it usually consists mainly of carbs and fats can you recommend and websites or anything like that were I can go to iron out my diet

A website won't really help you fix the diet issue. You should know how much protein you need and your calorie requirement based on your goal. So structure you diet around that and do whatever it takes

Sounds like you need more protein, which sucks cuz that means you're probly gonna either have to cook ahead of time, or spend hella money on high protein food while you're out. Or go dirty with McChickens if that's how you wanna roll

The website I use to calculate macros is IIFYM.com. It's a start to help figure out how much protein, carbs and fat grams you need. There are smartphone apps you can use to help you track. If you are serious about your health then "get" serious with your diet and lifting. Research Starting Strength for lifting routines. "Light" weights won't cut it for growing and shaping your body.
