I just stared cutting yesterday and i need help as far as how many calories i should be taking in without wasting my muscle. Im 5'10 265 lbs. havent been measured recently but im probably a overestimated 15% BF. I train 6 out of 7 days with weights and will be doin cardio everyday, im thinkin about 20-30 mins worth. As far as this diet goes im thinkin a good target for calories would be around 2400-2800 cals a day. split up 45/35/20 (prot/carb/fat). This is a example of my diet

breakfast:

2 grilled chicken breasts
1 cup of rice
2 cups of vegtables

or 2 cups of oatmeal

Snack:

1 cup of oat meal
or 1 package of tuna
or special k 90 cal bar

lunch:

4 egg whites with 1 cup of oats W/ brown sugar

Snack:

gatorade protein shake
or special k90 cal bar
or 1 cup of oats

dinner:
2 tuna salad samwiches on wheat (cant do straight tuna, its not available at the chow hall)
or 2 chicken breasts cup of rice and 2 cup of vegs.

postworkout:
cytolean shake

i dont have the totals of all this but i dont think its quite enough

hey ikd about yours but ive recently just got help with mine a few days ago and this is what it ended up been like:

You should be eating every 2-3hrs, so I dont think 4 meals is going to cut it.

Something like this would probably get you started in the right direction.

Breakfast: 4 scrambled eggs, 1 cup of "old fashioned" oats
Meal 2: 4oz cooked chicken, 1 & 1/2cup of cooked brown rice, 2/3cup mixed veggies
meal 3: 4oz lean beef, 10oz sweet potato(yam), 3oz of broccoli
Postworkout: 1 scoop of protein powder, and about 50g simple carbs
meal 5 (an hour after pw meal): same as meal #2
meal 6 before bed: 4oz chicken, 32g natural peanut butter

fat 74g, carbs 312g, protein 227g, 2920 calories
probably a bit high on the protein but its something to get you going

You should be drinking 3-4 liters of water a day and getting 8-10hrs of sleep (ideally)

maybe that might help? and im 17 years old, male, 178cm height and 70kgs
:P and i have a question aswell is it ok to do 30 mins of cardio before doin weight training? cause i do weight 5 times a week and have wanted to be doin cardio on those days aswell but im not sure if i can
