need a little comp help..

ok my parents own and run 3 businesses ,there old school my mom keeps a ledger,does payroll and everything this way.i bought them a g5 imac last year in hopes she would move her book keeping to the comp.well she hasnt yet.what i would like to know is what program should she use.i mean i know microsoft office is a obvious choice(theres a mac version and i have windows paritioned on my imac )but i was thinking of software specific to what she does would it be quickbooks?
