Well, not really, but it was scary nonetheless. I'm a reservist for the Air Force and I was down in Atlanta this weekend doing that. So anyways, I'm at the chow hall eating lunch with one of my buddies and put a nice hunk of roast beef in my mouth (I think it was anyways) and I go to swallow. Once, twice, three times. Low and behold, this chunk of succulent, juicy meat is lodged in my throat and I can't breath. So I look to my buddy, tap on the table to get his attention and let him know I'm choking. He thought I was messing around at first until he realized that of course I was not. He swings around and tries to perform the heimlich and he can't because one, I'm about twice his size, and two, he is squeezing my ribs and not up underneath my ribs. Others realize his efforts are futile so some tall ass dude comes and picks me up and squeezes me a few times; and while this is happening some guy punches me square in the groin. I think he was trying to hit me in the stomach or something to help out somehow, I don't frickin' know. Finally, after about 30+ (more like a minute actually, seemed like forever though) seconds of not being able to breath and causing a huge scene in the chow hall, the meat finally clears from my throat. I'm breathing and sweating all heavily and eventually some EMT guys come in and make sure I'm good to go. Just thought I would share this to teach you all a valuble lesson. Stay away from the mystery meat at the chow hall. It can kill you, literally.
