Is NA-R ALA (and ALA?)useless to take during a low carb diet cut?
It's best taken on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before a carb heavy meal. That way it can be fully absorbed and taken up into the sytsem so that when the glucose enters the bloodstream the NA-R-ALA can take it straight back out (GDA) and shuttle it away from the fat stores and into the lean tissues (Organs and Muscles).
I dont recall it having much muscle selectivity aspects to it, other than creating an insulin sensitive environment, which in the opposite realm of things (insulin resistance) is related to fat. doesn't change that its an awesome ingredient though.
not useless at all. Just be sure not to take too much, might drop blood sugar too low.
edit: completelly estimating of the top of my head but maybe 200mg for 50g carbs.
Yep, it sensitizes muscle and fat cells indiscriminently
Metformin, which is probably out of the question for most. I believe there is some research stating that agmatine and berberine sensitize muscle moreso? Not 100%If NA-R-ALA stimulates both muscle and fat cells, is there anything that can stimulate/sensitize just the lean/muscle tissues?

That's just what it is, theoretical selectivity. I'm not stating anything is 100% in that post and I'm trying to find the thread that showed the studies right now. I believe kbayne is who had posted this information as well as berberine being less helpful to those interested in hypertrophy.Show me data on anything in that post, outside of agmatine theoretical selectivity, they all activate ampk and increase glut4 expression in peripheral tissues. I have seen metformin blocks some glucose uptake from digestive tract but that has nothing to do with selectivity of skeletal tissue
Nothing is 100% selective to muscle. Once it's found, it'll be game over lol.
Na-r-ala is best taking before carbohydrate meal
