Na-R-ALA is amazing and I've loved it for carb ups, pre-workout and even pre-bed. My question pertains to Kiefer's Carb Backloading protocol modified for fasted morning training.
According to this modification, one would start backloading the night before a workout and then only do carbs with a post workout drink. If working out the following morning, carbs are resumed at night. Carbs for backloading would consist of most potatoes and white bread with lean meat.
How would na-r-ala play into this?
I understand that it stays in the blood stream for 17-22 hours, so multiple dosings throughout the day might redundant be and costly. Would dosing na-r-ala pre backloading work better than pre-workout the morning after? Or even post workout the morning after?
There are schools of thought that say that na-r-ala is a waste in a post-workout condition because your muscles are primed to suck up nutrients, especially if you've done a full-body depletion-type workout. There are others that say that na-r-ala simply optimizes this condition to the maximum.
So, would na-r-ala best be used to optimally uptake whatever carbs and nutrients ingested the night before to be used the following morning, or would it best be used in the post workout setting?
Thoughts?
