Mysterious Natural Gyno at 40 or Just Crazy?

I've been doing a lot of research before beginning an Epi cycle. I'm 43, so the reasearch was primarly liver, prostate, lipid and gyno protection for a guy my age. Anyway, during all the reasearch it occured to me that I had a bout with Gyno about three years ago THAT WASN'T CAUSED taking anything.
I got back into lifting hard again four years ago. At the time, I wasnt' taking anything but creatine and glutamine.
Anyway, all of a sudden I had two things happen. 1. my nipples started itching like crazy. Went on for about six months on and off, yet I had no sign of gyno (that I knew of at the time) then or now. Also, I suddenly had my first of only a few issues with BHP with my prostate (which is why I'm careful with it).
PSA levels have always been fine, even when it has acted up.
Now, after all this research, I'm about 100% sure the BHP was activated by the heavy lifting and the testosterone it released initially upon getting back into lifting. I am now about 75% sure that I had a little bout with Gyno even though I have absolutely no idea why since I wasn't supplementing with anything that would have cause it.

Can the body naturally produce enough testosterone in a guy that has been away from lifting for a long time and then later have that testonsterone turn to estrogen once things settle down - all naturally at at 40? I'm suddenly thinking yes. Anyone got a thought on that one?

If you are absolutely sure that you were not using anything hormonal and you are sure that you haven't had it since puberty, you should see a doctor. Unexpected manifestation of gynecomastia can be indicative of several disorders, including some cancers. At 43, it is also possible that you could simply be experiencing a decline in natural testosterone production, causing enough of a hormonal imbalance to stimulate growth of breast tissue. Either way, you should consult your physician.

This was about 2/12 years ago and I'm in excellent shape. There have never been any issues, no signs of gyno, no breast tissue. I have boulders for pecs - they are not and have never been puffy. I was just itchy and was curious in hindsight as to whether a sudden increase in testosterone natually could have triggered the itchy. Thanks for the help though.
