Hi

I found lots of great info on this forum and thought I would join because I recently found out that I have low Testosterone levels and will be getting treatment.

About me:

47yo Male, Married with 2 kids.

I've been getting treatment for depression / adult ADD for about 6 years now. Non of the meds I've tried have been fully succuessful, and some have been downright horrible (paxil was the WORST!!!). I'm currently taking Welbutrin, Concerta, xananx which are just as ineffective as everything else I've tried.

Anyway, I recently read an article about low testosterone sypmtoms and was amazed at how much it mirrored my own lack of energy, motivation, strength, concentration, memory and general feelings of happiness /well being.

Got an intial test of 319 on my testosterone, then a subsequent test with 283. Then after reading this formum followed up with several other tests (LH, FSH, SBGH, Thyroid panel, etc. ). I'll post some of those lab values later.

I have not yet started by HRT but hope to follow Dr. Crisler's protecol with the HCG addition. Hopefully this will work and I can get off all the other meds.

I'll be posting periodic updates. Might help others in my situation as I certainly benefited from reading all these other posts.

Welcome and you do need TRT. IF you need a good Dr in your area please let me know I have one in New Port Beach who specializes in HRTdoing multiple shots every 3.5 days with 30-40 mgs of testosterone is what I suggest to the Dr to start people out on. Then go up from there. As for HCG unless you are planning to pop more kids out, it may not be needed. For $180 a month having small balls seems like a more viable and realistic option. Getting off the other meds may not happen with TRT. TRT may help a little bit, but with all your neurotransmitter imbalance it will not resolve all of it as I have seen from cases I have worked one. Paxil is the worst because you probably have the MAO gene (warrior gene) which one can not break down serotonin end up causing major anxiety. I work neurotransmitter imbalances from evaluating things from a genetic level which changes the whole playing field which Big Pharma will not be too happy people will be needing less drugs LOL
