My Doberman attacked me

They are also relentless, long after you are gassed and can hardly move the dog will be still going crazy like it was when it started.

A dog around 2/5ths your weight will be as strong as you , but with a whole lot more power because it combines it with its speed.

I agree with this. It is a mistake do just say you could take down the dog. Zeus weighs 90 lbs of solid muscle. There is a reason they are used as guard dogs (not watch dogs, big difference). Check out Cops, there are many episodes with people being easily taken down by dogs.
 
I do believe it was a case of "mistaken identity" and that he was startled and did not realize it was me. He stopped the attack, and he sure did not look happy or dominant after. He obeyed me when I ordered him into the cage.

There was an incident when he was about 6 months old where he mistook me for an intruder. I came out of my bedroom and quickly slammed the door. He came charging and barking down the hall, until he got about a foot away and slammed on the breaks when he realized it was me, and walked off with a dumb look on his face.

Yeah its because they are running from the cops. Dogs can be taken out by humans and happens now and again. Most people are scared and don't really fight back. I had a doberman when I was a kid that bit me on the side of the head when I jumped on its back. My dad punched it in the head. It tried to get up and fell over.lol Dog was stunned for a good 30 seconds.

My girlfriends cat fell into the tub once as she was letting it fill. Funniest **** ever. Cat walked along the edge of the tub to investigate and PLUNK! 9lbs of soaking wet Himilayan/Persian in about .45 seconds.
 
Hey man -

similar situation happened with me and my dog. I woke in the middle of the night and I was too disoriented to realize my dog was sleeping too. I reached over to hug it and I guess I startled it. It woke up quickly and bit me in the face. Nothing too bad but I'm wondering if you possibly startled the dog and made it react?
 
Maybe the dog was having a wetdream and you guys spoiled it, so the dog got pissed? I always smack my dogs in the belly when they are sleeping. They just look at me with a sad face.

I must admit that my lil mini schnauzer has growled an complained when I move him and he's in a deep sleep. It was probably the same thing. If he doesn't obey your commands beat the living f*ck out of it until it gives in and then go from there. Not being cruel but you have to assert your dominance over it, I suggest padding :P

1. Maybe don't sleep with the dog anymore?

2. Get more training

3. See how it goes

4. Last resort put down :(

Don't just jump to no:4, but if my dog / any dog lost it on me.....no painless go to sleep nighty night by byes for that dog noooo.....grab me my gun wilma!
