My cabergolean log

Back workout was last night. Current gym I train at is closing down weds :( I will miss it because I put a ton of muscle on there. I hate getting adjusted to new gyms it just doesn't feel like home. My workouts will probably suffer for a couple of weeks until I get comfortable at the new gym. I am not excited about it.

Pull-ups - 2 sets to failure (I hate pull ups and usually skip them...I know its bad but damn do I hate them)

Wide-Grip Pulldowns - 115lbs for 15 reps, 160lbs for 12 reps, 190lbs for 10 reps, 220lbs for 10 reps

Barbell Rows - 135lbs for 15 reps, 225lbs for 12 reps, 275lbs for 12 reps, 315lbs for 10 reps

Underhand pulldowns - 115lbs for 15 reps, 130lbs for 12 reps, 145lbs for 12 reps, 160lbs for 12 reps

Two Handle Cable Rows - 115lbs for 8 reps, 145lbs for 8 reps, 190lbs for 8 reps, 220lbs for 8 reps (This was done Dorian Yates style with a long pause at the contraction on every rep)

DB Pullovers - 3 quick pump sets at 10 reps using 50lbs

That was it! I had zero caffeine yesterday and man did that show in my workout. I was dragging ass in the gym :( Tonight will go better!

Chest last night

Hammer Strength Incline Press - 90lbs for 20, 180lbs for 15, 270lbs for 15, 360lbs for 12

Incline DB Flyes - 25's for 15, 35's for 15, 40's for 10, 45's for 15

Decline Cables - 50lbs for 4 pump sets of 15

Chest Press machine - Did this DC style so 20 reps with 2 pauses. I used the whole stack

Pec Deck - 70lbs for all 4 sets just pump sets to finish the workout

Not sure If I am taking today off or doing shoulders...still trying to figure it out

Any mass gains?

Tons! I started this log using cabergolean and ergo-blitz at 215lbs. I am currently 232lbs in about 4 months. Not to say all my gains were strictly from the supplements... I haven't been missing workouts or meals. Goal for me is to get up to 240-245lbs before I start my show prep in June. I got a ways to go! What I have really found these supplements doing for me is keeping me full, giving me good pumps, better sleep and better recovery. Which are important factors! Thanks for stopping in.

Shoulders last night went well...I am training at my new gym now :( good news is this is the gym Jason Huh trains at so seeing someone that big regularily will keep me motivated!

Rear Delt Fly Machine - 90lbs for 20, 135lbs for 15, 190lbs for 15, 220lbs for 5 then did a drop set every single pin the whole stack down...good pump!

Seated DB Lateral Raises - 20's for 20, 25's for 15, 35's for 12, 35's for 12 then dropped to 20lb's and did 20 more reps

Shoulder Press machine - whole stack for 2 working sets of 15 reps. Took 2 warm up sets first

Upright rows - 75lbs for 20, 105lbs for 15, 155lbs for 8 and then dropped it back down to 105 and did 15 more reps

Hammer Strength Shrug - 90lbs for 15 reps, 180lbs for 15 reps, 270lbs for 12 reps, 270lbs for 12 reps then drop set - 180lbs for 10 and 90lbs for like 20

As you can see not a lot of movements but a ton of drop sets on this workout! I am just not used to this gym and really feel out of place there. I am very much so a creature of habit and this is really messing with my head.

workouts look good man! i like those incline hammers bro! you beat me by a rep! gonna have to up it next week ;)

It starts to get heavy at that weight doesn't it? Haha but this is how we both can get stronger. You hit 13 next week and I will shoot for 14 etc etc this way we will both be beasts!

Exactly and then NRC can do a vid of us in the trenches ;) We actually should try to train sometime since we're both floridians maybe on a vaca or something

Hell yeah! We are roughly the same strength wise you might have me beat but it wouldn't be like training with my wife where I have to take off 4 plates every single set haha

LOL i hear that man.. I trained w/ Don this weekend tho bro and he had me doing bb rows w/ 185 and it felt just as hard as 315 it was nuts.. it's all in how you do it

agreed! Jason Huh was helping me train legs on friday and he only had me squatting 225lbs and I am sore!!! Minor tweaks and lighter weight but hard as hell! Guess it says a thing or two about training light

Alright got two workouts to catch you guys up on....with my squats and hack squats I was fortunate enough to have Jason Huh helping me and he had me lighten up my weight and change a couple things on my form and it made a world of difference. I always squats ass to calves powerlifter style and he has me getting away from that so in the upcoming weeks I should hopefully notice a big difference. Anyways that is why those lifts are light!

Seated Hamstring Curl - 70lbs for 20, 90lbs for 20, 130lbs for 15

Squats - 135lbs for 20, 225lbs for 20, 315 for 15. Then Jason had me drop to 225lbs and I did 2 more sets on that

Hack Squats - 135lbs for 15, 135lbs for 15, 225lbs for 12, 225lbs for 12

Hammer Strength Hamstring Curl (this machine is cool you do it one leg at a time) - 60lbs for 20, 60lbs for 20, 80lbs for 15

Standing Calve Raise Machine - no clue on the weight here was just pumping blood in there

Arms on saturday:

V-Bar Tricep Pushdowns - worked up to the whole stack for 15

Dips - 4 sets using bodyweight to failure. Hit 15 at least on each set

Single Arm Cable Pushdowns across the chest - 30lbs for 3 sets of 15

Underhand pushdowns - worked up the whole stack for 15

Curl Machine (the one that is seat and has you curling one arm at a time. It is like a seated db motion) - no idea on the weight but 4 sets of 15

Hammer Curls - 3 sets of 12 reps. Weights went: 25, 35, 45 and that is it! Big time squeeze on these

Concentration curls - 20lb db for 12 reps.. did the for the pump

Took yesterday off! Today is chest!

Chest was last night I was exhausted from a long weekend so I wasn't pleased with this one

Chest:

I don't know what kind of Hammer Strength this was but it sucked - worked up to 270lbs for 12 then did a drop set. I really hated the angle on this one

Cable Press - worked up to whole stack for 12 reps (4 sets total)

Decline Hammer Strength - 90lbs for 20, 180lbs for 20, 270lbs for 15, 360lbs for 15

Incline DB fly - 25's for 15, 30's for 15, 35's for 15, 45's for 15

Incline Chest Press machine - worked up to the whole stack for 15

I did cardio and left after that I just wasn't feeling it. Tonight I am excited for...I am training back with the one and only Jason Huh!!! I am honored to get to train with an IFBB Pro and warned him last night I can't used the same weight haha!

I am soreeeeee from working out with Jason last night. We did pullover machine (awesome this gym has one), 15 sets of pull ups!, pulldown machine, hammer stength pulldown and hammer strength row. IT was intense! That many pull ups is rough. I am so sore haha I love it and it was an honor to train with a pro.

nice bro! looks like jason shares our feeling on volume! is ur back sore to the point where it hurts to breathe? I trained back with Don this past weekend... and he tweaked so much on form it was crazy.. not that it was bad just he wanted in "more perfect" that equaled some pretty intense soreness as well!

You know when you train legs insane and it feels like needles every step you take? That is how my back feels right this very second. MY back hurts so bad breathing hurts really any movement hurts. I love it! I have never in my life had my back this sore there is definitely something to be said about his style of training.

Took last night off! Needed a break very sore! Weight this morning on an empty stomach is 236lbs so I am still on the up. I am hoping by training a little different I get some nice results! Time will tell

Weight this morning is the same. I pulled a shoulder workout yesteday

Shoulders:

DB Later Raises - 20's for 15, 25's for 15, 30's for 15, 35's for 15, 40's for 15, 45's for 15, 50's for 10 then drop setted all the way back down the same way I went up

Hammer Shoulder Press - 90lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 270lbs for 12, 320lbs for 12 then drop setted all the way back down the same way I went up

Rear Delt Fly on machine - 70lbs for 15, 90lbs for 15, 110lbs for 15, 130lbs for 15, 140lbs for 12 then drop setted all the way back down

Front Raises using a 25lb plate but I also did bus drivers with this. I would front raise up then do bus drivers and I did 3 sets of this until failure

Plate-Loaded Lateral Raise Machine - 50lbs for 4 sets of 15-20 reps

Rear Delt Fly on cables - 4 sets using 35lbs for 15 reps

I felt good on this workout! I am even sick but still felt strong. I think I hit a PR On the hammer press too but I could be wrong. Goal for me is to hit 360lbs on hammer press for 15 reps...someday

That is an insane amount of volume! Is that pretty typical or where you going for a blitz attack?

That is an insane amount of volume! Is that pretty typical or where you going for a blitz attack?

Honestly it is pretty typical. I train with tons of volume! I have tried other forms of training but they just don't seem to do it for me like volume training does. I do 30 minutes of cardio after these sessions too!

This past weekend I did legs on friday and arms on saturday. I honestly can't remember how those workouts went down! I was just exciting to start eating for christmas! Last night I did chest

3 sets of cable flyes to warm up I think only 70lbs

Incline Hammer Press - worked up to 320lbs and did a drop set all the way back down

Chest Press Machine - worked up to the whole stack (3 sets) then did 3 sets using the whole stack. Reps were 15

Decline Hammer Press - worked up to 360lbs and did a drop set all the way back down

Fly Machine - worked up to the whole stack for 12 reps and then did a drop set back down

Incline Press Machine - 190lbs for 3 sets of 12 reps

That is it! Tonight is back and I will do Jason's partial reps again on back as I was insanely sore last week. Weight this morning was 239.7 on an empty stomach as you can see I ate my face off!

So I am training with partial reps on back and here is what I did yesterday:

Row Machine - did 3 sets with the whole stack for 12-15 reps

Cable Rows w/ 2 handles - did 5 sets working up to the whole stack. Kept the reps in the 12-15 range

Barbell Rows on Smith Machine - did 5 sets at 185lbs and really just focused on form (Inspired by Mike Skinner)

Pulldown Machine - did 5 sets using 170-190lbs in the 12-15 rep range

Hammer Strength Pulldown - did 3 sets using 3 plates in the 12-15 rep range

Pullover Machine - did 6 sets here working my way to the whole stack. Reps were 12-15

That's it! I know that me using more weight is due to me not using a full range of motion so definitely not bragging. I think this new range of motion on back will hopefully translate to more growth. I was 238lbs this morning.

Alright so last night was shoulders and cardio and tonight I am taking off! 5:30pm Notre Dame vs. FSU.......GO IRISH

Shoulders:

Lateral Raise Machine one arm at a time - did 5 sets total. Worked up to the whole stack for 12

DB Lateral Raises - 25's for 15, 30's for 15, 35's for 15, 40's for 15, 45's for 15 and 45's for 15 again

Hammer Shoulder Press - 90lbs for 15, 140lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 230lbs for 15, 270lbs for 15, 320lbs for 15

Rear Delt Machine - did 5 sets at 120lbs for 12-15 reps

Cable Rear Delt Flyes one arm at a time - 25lbs for 15, 25lbs for 15, 25lbs for 15, 30lbs for 15 and 35lbs for 15

That's it! I realized I forgot traps so I will throw those in either friday or saturday. Weight this AM was 237

So this weekend I pulled an arm workout on friday and Jason was there so he guided me through that one. On saturday I trained legs with him and that was a good workout! Yesterday was chest

Incline DB Press - 55's for 20, 70's for 20, 85's for 15, 100's for 15

Incline Hammer Press - 90lbs for 20, 180lbs for 20, 270lbs for 15, 360lbs for 15, 410lbs for 8

Chest Press Machine - half the stack for 20, 3/4 of the stack for 15, the whole stack for 15, the whole stack with a 45lb plate on it for 16

Fly Machine - half the stack for 15, 3/4 of the stack for 15, the whole stack for 15, the whole stack for 15

Decline Hammer Press - 90lbs for 20, 180lbs for 20, 270lbs for 15, 360lbs for 15 and then drop set 10 reps each weight all the way back down

I did back with Jason last night. He kicked my ass! Much like our last back workout the focus was largely on pull ups. I got the Lat Pullover machine the whole stack plus a 45lb plate on it (355lbs) for 10 reps!

Weight on the scale first thing in the morning: 241

He keeps reps usually 6-14 range. I am usually in the 10-15 range still but he likes to go to failure on every set so counting isn't as important with him. You are seriously throwing some weight on bro! You must look like a tank right now! I am definitely happy to be hitting 240 consistently! I have like another 10lbs of quality weight I need to add though. I just found out how competitive SouthEastern is this year and I have a ton of work to do.

Best advice I can offer is don't worry bout anyone else just focus on bringing your best package and let the chips fall where they may. The only variable u can control is yourself. Excited to see how your prep goes

not like you to not be on.... where are you.... did jason murder your muscles to much or did they explode from too much ergo blitz ;)

hahaha! Jason has been absolutely destroying me! I leave every workout just dead! I did legs on saturday and it knocked me out of commission for the rest of the weekend!

As for your other post I agree I am not do or die need to be at a certain weight. I would like to be a heavyweight but the goal is to come in shreddeddddd and wherever I land I land. I just need to make sure I stay motivated these last 6 months of off season. I was 253 on the scale before bed last night though hahahaha

Epic cheat meal! I am hanging tight in the 242-244 range first thing in the morning empty stomach (without cheat meal). The 253 I stepped on the scale and my wife and I just laughed our asses off. I guess there was sodium in that cheat! I am actually doing SouthEastern this year...If you do Southern States let me know though might have to make the drive over!

Currently have a stomach flu so I haven't trained the past couple days and barely been eating. I am depressed haha but hopefully tomorrow I can get back into the gym

Here's the scoop I have had the stomach flu since saturday night. Was projectile vomiting all day monday. Monday night and yesterday all I ate was saltine crackers and cheeze its as they were the only thing not pissing my stomach off. I just ate chipotle so I think I am going to try and hit the gym tonight. Weight this morning was 240lbs so I must have eaten enough crackers to maintain weight hahaha

Dang man that sucks. But good that you're maintaining weight that means it was solid weight!!! Hope you are feeling better tho

Alright I am back on track. Got 4 meals in yesterday and today I will hit 5-6. I got into the gym last night and did chest/tri's. I took 2 scoops of ergo-blitz and put them in a powerade zero....holy pump! It hurt so bad I thought I tore my chest off. I guess carb loading on crackers all week gave me a ton of glycogen and then ergo on top of that. It was great!

Incline Hammer Press - 90lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 270lbs for 15, 320lbs for 12, 360lbs for 10
Decline Hammer Press - 90lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 270lbs for 15, 320lbs for 12, 360lbs for 10
Chest Press Machine - half the stack for 15, 3/4 of the stack for 15, whole stack for 15, whole stack and a 45lb plate added on for 15
Fly Machine - 3 sets of half the stack for 15 reps
Over Head Tricep Extension Machine - half the stack for 15, 3/4 of the stack for 15, whole stack for 15, whole stack for 15
Wide-Grip Pushdowns - half the stack for 15, 3/4 of the stack for 15, whole stack for 12, whole stack for 10
Overhead DB Extensions one arm at a time - 30's for 15, 35's for 15, 40's for 15, 45's for 12
Underhand Tricep Extensions one arm at a time - 4 sets of 25lbs for 15 reps

I was a little down on strength but I felt good other than that! So happy to be back in the gym. Weight this AM was still 241

reps full range or the x rep style?? you see the article about them on the forum mentioned your boy jason

I do full range of motion on hammer press. I don't come to a full lockout though. Basically I only "count" the full range of motion reps and then after I fail on full range of motion I switch to partial reps and rep it out until failure. Jason says full range of motion on any equipment that has a fixed range of motion. Any free weights is all partial reps though. I actually did not see that article is it on MD?

Alright so friday night was back this workout was basically all partial reps. I swear partial rep pullups absolutely destroy me I really like them.

Hammer Strength Pulldown - 1 plate per side for 15, 2 plates per side for 15, 2 plates and a quarter per side for 10
Pull-Ups - I did 12 sets of pull-ups and the rep range was anywhere from 9-14. I did switch up the grip 6 sets in as well and did more of a close grip
Pulldown machine - half stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 15, whole stack for 10, whole stack for 10
Cable Rows - 3 sets at 155lbs for 10-14 reps

Then yesterday I did side delts/front delts and biceps and for the most part these are partial reps as well

DB Lateral Raises - 20's for 20, 30's for 20, 35's for 15, 40's for 15, 45's for 15, 50's for 15
Cable Lateral Raises - I think on this machine 15lbs felt heavy haha so I did 6 sets at that weight at 15 reps and really paused and squeezed at the top
Bicep Curl Machine - 1/4 of stack for 15, half stack for 15, half stack for 15, half stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 10, 3/4 stack for 10
Front Raises with DB's - 20lbs for 15 reps....4 sets and then I super setted them with:
Cable Curls one arm at a time - 20lbs for 15 reps for 4 sets

That's it! Took 2 cheat meals this weekend and lost weight so whatever haha guess I gotta eat more

Chest again last night. I went a little different than normal on exercise choices because I just did chest on thursday

Iso Lateral Hammer PRess - 4 warm up sets reps at like 30 just with 140lbs to get warm

Super Incline Iso Lateral Hammer Press - this machine is new to the gym and it is heavy! Did 90lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 230lbs for 15, 270lbs for 12, 320lbs lbs for 8

Incline Press Machine - 3 sets using half the stack for 8 reps. This one hurt my shoulder so I stopped asap

Bodyweight Dips - did 7 sets total all reps were in the 10-15 range. I switched up and went narrow grip for the last two sets

Chest Press Machine - Hlaf stack for 15, 3/4 for 12, whole stack for 7, whole stack for 7 (this machine is also new and felt weird)

Fly Machine - half stack for 20, 3/4 stack for 15, whole stack for 12, whole stack for 12, whole stack for 10

That's it I think! Tonight I am hitting back with Jason.

News: I am officially doing Southern States on July 14th! I will be starting to work with Mike Arnold probably next week

Heck ya, I'd like to see some squats and some row movements bb rows maybe some pulldowns any free weight chest movement. Also how is that high incline? Looks almost like a shoulder press doesn't it you feel it isolate upper pec ?? There's one at the airforce bass gym I've been meaning to try it. I want to be able to set a cup on my upper pec :)

I need to start takin some videos then! Quality on the camera isn't awesome but you'll get the concept. The incline on this guy is really high! I felt it a little in the shoulder but big time in upper chest I liked it. It was a little on the heavy side so just be mindful to warm up to it. I want to do the same with the cup hahaha!
