I'm a noob here on the site, so if I'm in the wrong place, or someone has already addressed this subject somewhere feel free to point out my incompetence! I have been noticing that as I get bigger muscle-wise I'm having problems sleeping. I'm a guy that likes to sleep on my belly and put my arms up under my head or up and out to the sides, but now that I've been lifting more and more I notice that my arms always go "dead" on me when I sleep like that. Even worse, I've experienced severe shoulder pain upon waking up twice in the last few months, almost like a strained tendon or something. I have a Verlo mattress that is only a few years old, somewhat firm (lower back issues - I was told this would be the best mattress style for that), paid about $1200 for the thing so it wasn't a cheapo, though I realize there are much more expensive ones out there. Does anybody out there have a similar problem and if so have you figured out a resolution (besides forcing yourself to sleep on your back)? I'm thinking about going back to a water bed, it didn't seem like I ever had issues sleeping on one of those. But maybe there's a better mattress out there, or maybe I should have bought a super soft one?? Of course I bought this before I got back into weight lifting so now it's looking like I should have bought something else, but I don't want to go out and waste another grand on a soft mattress only to find out I have the same problem. Any tips would be appreciated!
