More IGF Qs?

Hi bro's,

Props to you people, this seems to be the best forum on the net for IGF info. Been looking all around but can't find definitive answers for my questions. I've been researching IGF for 2 purposes and I was hoping you could let me know of your thoughts on either use.

Primary reason is that I have some achilles tendon issues which I'm hoping IGF could resolve. Would I be able to site inject my achilles tendon to speed up the healing process, in your opinion would this help? I don't want to grow huge achilles tendons would this be an issue?

I'm an endurance athlete would the IGF have any specific positives for a distance runner. i.e. (provided my achilles heals up) could I use the IGF post training maybe to aid recovery/ strengthen legs etc.? Thanks.

Anybody got any thoughts?

I'm thinking of doing low dose multiple injections per day, say 3 x 10mcg per day. Injecting strainght into the tendon following these exercises: Invalid Link Removed

crunch or wearwolf i believe could help you ask this question in grunts take on igf. he might be able to help you.. shooting in the Achilles doesn't sound fun to me..

Why into the tendon? :jaw: Would shooting it next to the tendon work as well with much less pain and less chances of hurting yourself?

I do a ton of sports and have a few lingering injuries from last year. I'm on gh & igf and my ankle that I sprained a year ago and would swell everytime I went for a hike or run a month ago is fine now & no pain or swelling. No wat to know if it was the igf or the gh though.

Been on the IGF for a week now at 40mcg/day single injection post exercises. Tendon is recovering but nothing dramatic. Hard to say whether the IGF is really helping or not. Been doing IM injections into various different muscles (haven't hit the same muscle twice yet) on the assumption that the IGF will get into my system and help the healing process. Wanted to check whether peeps thought this was ok? i.e. an injection in my tricep would still help healing in my achilles through the systematic effect? I chickened out of going straight into the injured tendon, seemed like I was risking doing more damage than a nice big muscle belly.

I strained my hamstring last week and have been doing my igf injections there.

Don't know if it would help but it can't hurt.

a tendon is quite different and I don't know that anyone knows if it will help or not. Have yoy looked into adequan or alflutop?

Cheers Amazon Doll, Alflutop does look interesting but I have no idea how to source it (I'm not in the US).

I'm thinking of injecting around or near the tendon but there is still not much fleshy muscle in that region, anybody ever done anything like that?

Seeing that igf-1 helps with connective tissue recovery (tendon, ligaments, ...) ... it should definatly help. Also, don't put too much stress on your tendon, try not to bend your foot for 2 weeks, you'll be walking funny, but who cares.

Inject in your calves, igf will show systemic effects wheter you pin IM, or SubQ, its effects are surely not only local, like right around the injection spot, or we would all be growing funny.

Same here ,i sprained my ankle since February and still has swelling. With the MRI i've done didn't show anything special to worry like fracture and such, only the swellings it has.As I'm on IGF-1 do you think to help me,where were you injecting for your ankle?

Cheers for the replies.

I have another question. I seem to be experiencing muscle bloat like my muscles are retaining water. I'm not interested in gaining weight or size so this is undesirable for me. This seems to be contary to the effects most people report. Does anybody know what could be going on? Could I expect this bloat to go away if I stopped using IGF? Thanks.

Grunt was saying to me that bloat is very unlikely with igf

if you go off the igf & the bloat goes away, you will know it was the igf

could you have eaten something with MSG in it?

Yeah bloat being unlikely from IGF would agree with everything I've read, yet my instint still thinks its the main factor. I guess its possible I ate something with monosodium glutamate in it but I haven't eaten anything unusual recently yet this bloat is unusual.

Other things that could be involved is that I've been mega-dosing cissus 5% extract and taking quite large quantities of glucosamine sulfate and fish oil.

In addition I am experienceing lethargy which could be due to the IGF or from demotivation due to the injury (after a period where I had been at my peak fitness) or a combination of both, which in turn has made it difficult to maintain the same intensity in my cardio sessions (which take place in the pool or elliptical traininer due to the injury), so perhaps it could be due to less calorie expenditure.

But my instinct still points to the IGF for some reason.

FYI..........I am holding a TON of water. my feet and ankles got pretty swollen and then even mu knees got squishy. Im doing a combo of gh/igf/pmgf so as well as low doses of aas. So when you have a mix like that plus training schedule changes, you can never know for sure what is causeing what symptom.

Why don't you keep everything the same & cut out the igf for a few days & see what happens? At least you'll know. But you can't change anything else.

Yeah I might do that. I have never been very good at testing things out individually. I'm too impatient, so I throw everything at the problem or whatever - the drawback being its impossible to know what it was that did the trick. But it could be worth droping the IGF (and controlling the other variables) as you suggest to see if that makes a difference. Thanks Amazon.
