Molson Canadian beer high in protein???

I went to Invalid Link Removedcalorieking.com, looked at the beers, and I looked for Molson Canadian, one of the more popular beers here in Canada, what I saw shocked me, I almost fell out of my chair, here it is, the nutritional value for it:

Calories 150 cals Kilojoules 627 kJ
Total Fats 0 g
Carbohydrates 12 g
Protein 25.5 g
Alcohol 14 g
Fat Breakdown
Saturated 0 g

it says 25.5g of protein per bottle!!! I checked other 2 beers made by Molson and they all have around the same amount of protein. When i checked other beers they only had 1g or 2g. Is the site wrong??? could they make a mistake on 3 of Molson beer's??? I emailed Molson about it and I am now waiting for their reply. I really hope this info is true and that calorieking.com is right, because then having a beer a day wouldn't be such a bad thing [;)] lol

stay tunned for Molson's response!

cross your fingers for any Canadian's out there
cheers

here is the link, take a look Invalid Link Removed

Beer can retain ingredients that are high in protein by partial claification and filtering. I think its during fermentation, the yeast used contains a good amount of B vitamins..... but this doesnt answer the ultimate question. I highly doubt the protein in any beer (molson included) can be too beneficial for our purpose (;) )

I think its wrong because the carbs protein and alcohol adds up to over 250 cals where it says there is 150.

Protein 25.5 g
Alcohol 14 g
Fat Breakdown
Saturated 0 g

p = 4cal/g
c = 4cal/g

The numbers match up...Interesting

How great. You get LOADED but on the bright side you're building muscle :)

Interesting, let us know what Molson says. That's a lot of protein. **** I drink a six pack and 150g down the hatch. It can't be that easy:cool:

The alcohol should count as 7cal/g, so the total is actually 248 total cal. Something aint quite right there.

I've seen some crazy stuff on beer. There is some beer that is relatively low in calories. And some they're the ones you'd least expect, like Guiness for example. The beer that drinks like a meal has 210 calories per pint, which is less than most other beers, or most fruit juices for that matter.

Hmm, too bad Molson Canadian tastes like horses ass though, that's a suprising amount of protein in each bottle of the stuff. :D

I recall reading though that when you are in the process of drinking your body doesn't utilize protein very efficiently, as it prioritizes burning up the alcohol as an energy source before all other nutrients. Although the protein content of this beer almost has me wondering whether I should be skipping out on my whey/malto/dextrose combo and chugging a few brewskies instead. :p
