Molecular Nutrition's NEW TEST FACTOR: DJ's Daily Log!

LOL @ the 3 star thread status. Like it matters. Feelings so hurt. :D

That is an AWESOME video! Way to make sure you were buckled in and not running over any small pedestrians haha.

Mind if we throw your videos onto our Youtube page? We only have a few videos, so anything helps :)

Yea and their customer service is great. I had some wrist wraps that I completely busted one day pulling too hard on the thumb loop which ripped it right off... Sent them an email with a pic and had a new pair within a week at no charge to me!

A local prep coach and competitor who I really respect was telling me those full body workouts are the way to go for fat loss... I might start incorporating them from time to time.

What an odd word to have censored lol, wonder what the story is behind that.

DAY 25: SQUAT - SPEED

PRE: None... just some water with a squirt of Mio Energy for a little kick

SQUATS
BAR x 5
135 x 5
185 x 4
235 x 3
285 x 2,2,2,2,2
320 x 1

OLYMPIC STANCE DEEP PAUSE SQUATS
155 x 5,5,5,5,5 (paused in the hole for a 3 count)

LEG PRESS
283 x 8
513 x 15,15,15,15 (whoops... meant to only do 12 reps!)

I was supposed to do some light good mornings and some kettlebell work but I ran out of time and had to get home to cook dinner. I'll throw both of those onto my 4th day for BB work. Considering I had not taken a preworkout the pumps (particularly after leg press) were absolutely ridiculous. Like couldn't walk right ridiculous. Which is strange because even on days where I've taken a pre+ARA+GMS I didn't get anywhere near the level of pumps I had today!

Video comin' :)

Hahaha awesome

155 is so light... But after the 3rd or 4th rep my legs were like what the hell is this lol... I loved it.

Pause reps kick ass, they always get me brutally sore.

I'm going to get that second video up on youtube asap as well, shouting out djbeanpole.com !!

That's great to hear. People always take what I say with a grain of salt, since I'm a rep and employee of MN but 99% of people who use our products echo my belief that we really do have some of (if not THE) best stuff out there in every product category that we occupy. It's great to see all of our loggers responding so well to our products, as we put a ton of time and money into R&D and virtually no money into marketing. Positive word of mouth is what keeps food on our tables and provides the funds to crank out innovation and research. Bill believes so strongly in his mission that he has never once even taken a single investor as things need to be done his way: not in the interest of money, but rather in the interest of integrity... I can't think of another brand who has taken this stance on investors.

And the results show for themselves, nobody has the data on their flagship product like we do with X-Factor, and few crank out the innovative first to market ingredients, or have the expansive patent portfolio that Molecular Nutrition does. In short, THANK YOU for your support of our brand and our mission. We couldn't do it without our extremely loyal following.

DAY 25: REST

Was supposed to be chest day but I decided to put it off until tomorrow since I would be getting out of work early and the gym would be much less crowded for me to do some work. Today was the last day of Bottle #1 of TF. I freaked out for a second because I couldn't find Bottle #2 and thought that perhaps my wife had thrown it out but then I found it hidden behind a collection of preworkouts. All is good :D

DAY 26: BENCHPRESS - HEAVY

Pre: 1 scoop Nitramine

1 BOARD BENCHPRESS
BAR x 5
135 x 5
185 x 4
225 x 3
255 x 2 (felt heavy, looked at notes... oops too much weight)
245 x 2
245 x 2

2 BOARD CLOSE GRIP BENCHPRESS
185 x 11
165 x 10 (wut?!)
165 x 12

LAT PULLDOWN
150 x 15,15,15

TRICEP PUSHDOWN
4 sets to 15 increasing weight with last set being near-impossible...
72.5 x 15
80 x 15
85 x 15
87.5 x 8 induced failure

SEATED DB PRESS
50 x 10,10
55 x 10
I had more in the tank... should have tried out the 60s :)

BB SHRUG
185x15,15 slow, squeeze & hold

HIIT
Bike: 12 minutes, 5 sprint cycles, 100ish calories and a sweaty mess

Today had me all over the place in terms of strength output and energy. Nitramine let me down this time and perhaps its time to consider bumping up the dosage because I didn't really feel that much in terms of an energy spike during the first two bench exercises and I ended up having to take some EVOL in the middle of my workout. Initially the close grip bench press was a disappointment especially with the second set. It wasn't so much that I didn't have the strength to keep going but more that the triceps get focused on so hard (especially with the 2 board so they never get relaxed during the entire ROM) that the bumps that flushed into them towards the end of the set made it incredibly hard to continue to push out the reps. I then went back into my notes and looked at the most I ever close-grip benched during my 5/3/1 run and it was 165x10 at the top end and 205x5 and the heavy end. So essentially 185x11 was a PR. Using Wendler's training weight calculation I should have been repping with 160 so I definitely went above and beyond today and that was a huge mental boost after I figured it out :D!

One thing I've noticed lately now with TF is that pumps from the gym seem to stick with you a lot longer post-workout that usual. And that feeling of "fullness" sticks around for a good 2-3 days before dissipating. Think of it like taking 1g of Agmatine daily and you'll see what I mean!

Tonight is another off night and then I go into the weekend with deadlifts on Saturday. I'll be doing my normal planned routine and then I'll work on some sumo pulls to determine the form because I'd like to transition to sumo from conventional but not until I know what weight I can handle without losing form.

DAY 28: DEADLIFT - REPS

1" DEFICIT DEADLIFT

365 x 3
390 x 6

SNATCH GRIP 4" BLOCK PULLS
265 x 10,10,10

OLYMPIC STANCE DEEP SQUAT
195x8,8,8

BACK RAISES
(at a different gym with a GHR that adjusts properly... YEAAAA)

BW+25x10,10,10,10,10

I meant to get in some HIIT cycling work but I was absolutely exhausted and the gym was hotter than hell that day. The preworkout I've been taking (Nitramine) has been hit or miss with me having good days and bad days. Today was a bad day. I'll eventually end up reviewing it separately once I've completed the bottle I was given from Mr. SuppTalk himself, double s. 390 deficit deadlift came up surprisingly easy even after 365 felt heavy as hell. I'm not sure what I was expecting... glad to see the floor strength was still there.

Some changes will be coming to my workout routine due to constrictions I'll have from now until the baby arrives. Probably for the better too :)!

Sorry to hear your pre has been failing you. Sounds like we need to rush on releasing ours!

Awesome notes on the pumps and fullness. ActeoFit is something, much like ArA, that doesnt get the recognition it deserves in the industry... yet!

I did not realize you are 6'9' until that second video... holy hell lol, you're a giant!

looking good here mah man. When I tried nitramene it was a hit or miss for me too

Hey DJ!

I'm the same height so it's nice to read your log! I feel ya on the squats haha.

I start my test factor in a few weeks after t-force. Looking forward to it!

All I wanted as a kid was to get that tall and play in the NBA haha. I was 6ft by 7th grade... then never grew anymore :(

dude you guys are coming out with a pre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes sir, not in the immediate future but late 2014/early 2015 for sure. We're pretty dialed in on the formula at this point... it looks GOOD!

So far I'm more disappointed than impressed. First time I took it I was blown away but I've yet to have that same experience since.

Ran out of time...

I was simply blown away that I even met the goal for today's squat day which was to achieve at the minimum 270x5. I thought I could get 6 for sure... and then after the 6th rep it still felt so I easy I just kept going. I even wrote in my notes from lifting that day: 270x10+ which meant I felt like I had more in the gas tank and should have kept pushing. If i had hit 12 reps my theoretical max would have been 375-380 which to me is just nuts... thats 10-15lbs heavier than my all time max! I just couldn't believe my body could switch gears that fast. I've gotten it so used to heavy singles/doubles that I thought it would have given out now that I've switched it up to a higher rep scheme but I was totally blown away and it was a definite confidence booster. Now if only I could apply that same mentality for benchpress lol...

DAY 33+34: REST

Took the past two days off. Two days ago was only because I lifted twice in a row and yesterday was because of work and I went to my wife's first weekly OB visit... which didn't go as planned. She now has to stay on bedrest up until the delivery so that kind of put a damper on the mood of the day :( That also means I get to do ALL of the chores around the house which I was already doing anyway lol... I'm hoping the end of this log will happen before the little one arrives!

Oh lawd, having a wife on 24/7 bedrest and picking up all the work seems like a lot of work! I remember there was a girl on my swim team who was 6'2 and a start basketball player

6'2 is ridiculously tall for a girl! The tallest girl I dated was in college at 5'11. Needless to say it didn't work out but I've always had a knack for the shorties. My wife is 5'2" and the two girls I dated before her were 5'1 and 5'3. I'm sure it pisses off the tall girls to see us with such short ladies lol.
