methoxy and ectdy ?s

Not sure if there have been any posts on this or not but i searched around this site and didnt seem to come up with much. I am 19 and im waiting to take PH or test til im old enough so ive been looking around to see what else i can take. I stumbled across Mechoxy 500 and Ectdysterone on bodybuilding.com from SciFit and from what the description says about them, they are supposed to be pretty good. methoxy being a non steroidal isoflavone and ectdy helping you achieve a positive nitrogen balance to help protein synthesis. I started reading around more and saw both ends of the spectrum in terms of effectiveness.

Is this stuff any good? What does it actually do? Was it worth my money? And if not, what else would you recommend? Thanks a lot for the help
 
some of what you will read would have you believing that methoxy isoflavone is this substance with powerful anabolic properties and will stack pounds on you. Other sources say that it has no signifigant anabolic effects. some guys patented it in the 70's, in the patent description they claimed that it had anabolic properties. just because it was in a patent description from 30 years ago doesnt make it true. research has been done since then, Search google on it if you want.

There is some argument over Ecdy's. some say they work great, others say it's BS.

i dont believe much in the Methoxyflavone, but ecdy's make me curious, i think it is possible that thy work.
Scientists studying rats noted that when they ate lots of spinach their grip strength increased significantly. this may or may not translate into humans, but at any rate to ingest an equivelent amount of spinach you would need to take in about 2 pounds a day.... that is a lot, you would need to eat enough spinach to fill a pillowcase. but, if there were a way to concentrate that: into a powder i wouldnt hesitate to try it. you can buy the powder in bulk online, but its a bit expensive.

instead, stick with the proven basics.

vitamins, creatine, aminos, whey powder.
I hope you are already taking ZMA.

Grab some Citrulline Malate powder and some BCAAs.
 
good advice :) I have seen some positive studies on methoxy- but there are some doubts as to whether or not it even gets absorbed in the gut....eatmeat just gave about the best advice you can get- just make sure all your other nutritional bases are covered first....
 
haha i just read that spinach rat article in MD mag. yeah like rms80 says that is great advice. most people i talk to want to get on PHs or test and they eat 2 bagels a day for food! well no s**t you're not growing bro! but yeah so im pretty sure i doing alright with the basic stuff from what ive read. I'm eating around 1g/lb bodyweight of protein and about 1.5g/lb of carbs and a good amound of healthy fats i think and lots of veggies. I eat 6 to 7 times a day and i drink a protein shake immediately upon waking with 40g protein, glutamine, creatine gluconate, 15g BCAA's, citrulline malate, and 30g honey. and i do a pre workout shake around 40g protein with everything above except honey and i eat a banana andmy post workout shake is 50g with everything above except honey but i put 40g waximaize in it too. (I try to buy everything in as big of bulk as i can). I just have been looking around at whats out there thatcould possibly put on even more size naturally.
 
:) it sounds like youve already got your bases well covered, you know what youre doing.

the spinach article really did get my gears goin. i cram a few handfuls of raw spinach down the hatch every night.

eat some cashews, almonds, peanuts ect. monounsaturated fats apparently raise testosterone levels slightly. at any rate, they are high in minerals.

the key with natural bodybuilding is really simple, for the most part, it's about forming good habits; including lots of vegetables, avoiding stress, sleep..
sleep, diet and training are just about equally important.

one thing that people often overlook is that we are mammals. knowing that fact can help in understanding exactly what youre up to when youre trying to manipulate your hormones in a natural way.

think for a moment about breeding, mating animals. if you Google search, you will read that during the mating season animals will have much higher test levels than when not mating. i read a scientific study that showed that merely being in the presence of a female raises testosterone...

so, if you have a girlfriend, see or call her before you lift. do whatever you have to do to get into that zone, because whenever you even think about reproducing your testosterone goes soaring.
 
hahaha! Wow i never even thought of that!! Well unfortunately i dont have a gf at the moment but i talk to a lot of girls at the gym pretty regularly and now that you mention it, it does seem to get me a little more pumped!
