Google Berberine PubMed.

Use Berberine. Works better, cheaper, actually healthy for you instead of potentiating dementia like Metformin.

Controlled Labs Blue Sugar is $20 at Nutraplanet for a month.

Bulk powders and solo Berberine capped products can be had even cheaper.

Reduce the percentage of carbs in your diet substantially, and try to eat them only after training or immediately prior. Nothing will outrun a bad diet, and if your insulin sensitivity is poor you need to focus on fats and proteins predominantly to lose body fat (and of course be eating less than you need to maintain bodyweight).

I was about to mention berberine, but I see the job is done already. Highly recommended vs metformin. For sure.

At my local Swanson I can buy a big ol bottle of 300mg berberine caps for just under $12.

I don't know much about berberine but I am pretty sure metformin has been shown to lower overall testosterone. I don't think berberine has this effect.

I have seen that price on their website as well I believe. 1-3 caps a day based on gut tolerance would make a substantial difference.

Agreed! I took the time to read up on berberine about a month ago - blown away by the data on that supp. I would say most definately give it a try before you hop on a pharmaceutical like metformin - chances are you wont need to try it after berberine

Had never heard of dimentia being associated with metformin. So I googled it and read a dozen or so. Seems about a 60/40 split between increasing/reducing risks according to studies. I did see a few studies, non human, where it significantly increases lifespan in healthy subjects tho.

Thanks for the info on this. I've never read up on it, but I will now.
