Melting a Titan, Sponsored Thermogenesis log

I think the barrier is more than just mental... The cns almost acts like a governor on an engine and will cap out what you can pull before your truly hitting your potential. That's why you read about super human feats of strength when adrenaline overrides the parasympathetic nervous system.

I think part of the reason why all our lifts go up when we start squatting and pulling with heavy weight is that the CNS is getting more use to that level of exertion...
Brandinooooo and I are going to open a gym that has a new style of training to engage the parasympathetic nervous system... it basically involves us slapping the sh1t out of our clients before huge lifts, scaring them, and smoking rock cocaine...

Big emphasis on the cocaine.

The best I ever did was 450. It went all downhill from there. Closest I ever got again was 425 a couple of years ago. Lost strength for various reasons. It's hard over a certain level

We are now an official sponsor to AM. We've got our company page up so if you have any questions/comments or such there's now a place :)

Keep pushing and fighting. I know you've had some injuries and I think blueline438 is correct that so much of this is in our heads. I always think that deadlifts are THE exercise most people fear the most, and an injury can just make adding weight so much scarier. It can be hard to overcome.

And I've had those drops too - when I was 250 I was working up around 450 on the dead, then had a big loss while on a PSMF, and now it's coming back...and since I've gained a bunch back while on another PSMF (albeit slowly) - I wonder how much of it is mental too....you feel tired on a diet, so you psych yourself out of the heavy deads...or at least I may have.

It doesn't have to. My reasons were various injuries, a move cross country. Other random stuff. So just keep working. If you have a goal, go after it as hard as you can. My main point is that at a certain weight level it gets hard. So just keep going

Todays workout is brought to you by F*** YEAH!!! Took 2 Thermogenesis this morning around 0600 and rocked on to work amped after a cup of coffee loaded with coconut oil. Feeling great. Still havent checked my weight again, that will be tomorrow. And dont really care because I can still SEE results. Enough that 1 if not 2 of my coworkers are ordering some today. Anyway, decided to see what I could do with squats since I already went from 225 to 275lbs, and my deadlifts went from 225 to 315. So its the same HST "A" workout as previous, but with changes to the squats. I upped it to 300lbs and got the first set of 15 nice and clean, the second set I got to 10 and my legs just gave out. Doesnt matter, Im fricken stoked!

Nice work man! 15 reps with 300lbs on squats is no joke. If you are seeing visible POSITIVE changes, don't worry if that scale shows you gained a pound or two. I know that can jack with you mentally. You have gotten more muscular and your belly does show visible leaning. Whatever you're doing, keep it up

Thank you!!! I needed that. I was/am worried the scale will show an increase and I have to get it in and keep it in my mind that MAY not be bad. I saw a buddy last night for the first time inna couple months and he said he almost didn't recognize me and asked what I was on. Definitely gave me a shot of D@MN RIGHT to my ego. Lol

Ditto, brother! It's all about the results. If the numbers support that, then good. But as long as you can see the change, that's all that matters!

Looks good! I like how stoked you are. It is hard to do that through text.
As far as hitting only 10 on your second set, that is very normal for me on 2nd and 3 rd sets not to hit the same reps.
This is why I mainly look at my first set of each exercise as the number to improve on next time. Unless you are waiting 3+ min between sets.
Hope this makes sense?

The scale can play tricks on you. I have gained 3 lbs in 2 days and looked leaner and have lost a few pounds and looked softer.

Makes perfect sense. And not 3 minutes, If I had to guess it was about 1.

From 15reps to 10 reps on 1 min rest. Is actually very good. You will see this a lot on the bid muscle groups. For me I very rarely hit the same reps from set one to set two on anything. Unless I get extra rest between sets. Sometimes someone has me a question or I have to walk over to a different sibe of the gym because some hot chick is doing some kind of an exercise I have never seen before. (Always trying to learn) !

Good to know, At least I know dropping a few reps on the second set is normal. And yes, always willing to learn new things from hot chicks. And exercises too. Lol

FTS!
You're doing fantastic work in the gym and on the plate - don't let the scale creep into your head! I almost got derailed from it till all y'all reminded me it's how you look and feel that counts!
You are doing great so I say again FTS!

Think I'm going to tape FTS on the one at the gym. Think anyone would know what it means? Lol

You guys want to hear something...not "cool" but decent. My max deadlift was 650 about a year ago when I was competing before I started Vitalize and working all the time. I now do volume with anywhere from 405-500 still. Best bench was 450, paused.

Ok guys, Im working really hard in here,
Trying to get stronger and stronger, and leaner and leaner. Then this guy , lets just call him "Matt" creates this little magic pill that seems to give me energy for days and starts having me look like Im getting said leaner and leaner, you know feeling good about myself. THEN IT HAPPENS..."Matt" comes back in here, and says "hey guy, before I started this company, I could deadlift an SUV, but now I can only lift compact cars. With a pause. TUT. Strapless and belt less" . So now I feel bad about myself, and instead of lifting, Im going to crawl back in the bed and eat cheezits and gummie worms. Way to go Matt. Way. To. Go. Lol

FYI, Just Kidding. Nice numbers, before AND after. Ill get there. Oh. Woke up this morning for a lift, and I could be wrong, but I think I saw an ab. Just 1 though

Thats awesome.. and a really good feeling.. It really is hard to truly see your own changes. Your head can play one big mind F with you. In my own head I dont think I look that much different then I did but a went to a family function a while ago, I dont live near any of them anymore so they dont see me, and I was standing next to my brother and my own family was asking who i was.. so thats a good feeling. Keep killing it brother.

So bad/good news this morning. Apparently while doing squats yesterday with the 300, one of my last couple I went a bit deep and hurt my knee. Theres no "heat" feeling in it, so Im sure its just an aggravation rather than a new injury, but its sore as all get out this morning. So, Luckily I keep a knee brace in my locker. Woke up at 0520, took 1 Thermogenesis and a non stim PWO and headed to the gym. Blew through my HST workout, but, when I got to the deadlifts, I failed. Did my 135x15 warmup, then got 315x15 but the knee was not going to allow me to do a second set. I did however take more time with the set I completed, and was able to keep my form in check by allowing a full reset at the bottom of each pull. Now, some good news. Got back from the gym, and went to put on my uniform. Ive been wearing 34s in my jeans and my new Uniform pants, but I couldnt comfortably wear the one pair of 34" 5.11's I had, theyre cut more like straight leg slack, and were snug. Not anymore!! Im in them, and comfortably!! That made my day. Ill
Be headed home shortly, will weigh in and get in the bed for my EMS night shift. BioFreeze will be lathered on the knee!! Good day guys!

Thank you my man!! And congrats to you for that! It is a great feeling.

You're a freaking bull my man!!!! Oh hell yes. Way to push through the way you know how to get it done.

Thank you homie!! The pants fitting definitely made the knee pain feel less painful. Lol. I may not should have done the deads, but Ive been pushing hard enough that I didnt want to let off.

I've got a funny knee injury story for you: about 5 or 6 years ago I was drunk and spotlighting rabbits with a group of young seminarians who were visiting the youth ranch. We were planning on making this big rabbit stew for the boys.

Anyway, long story short, I got pissed and accidentally stabbed myself in the knee with a razor sharp knife... actually buried the blade to the hilt.

I live 1 hr from the nearest hospital, out in the country. One of the seminarians insisted on pouring cayenne pepper into the wound to stop the bleeding; which is something he had read in a survival magazine or something. He dumped cayenne on my knee and I put pressure on it and the bleeding actually stopped.

When I got to the ER, the first thing they had to do was irrigate the wound. They used multiple bottles of saline, which mixed with the cayenne and ended up in a puddle on the hospital gurney. So basically, my balls and @sshole had to sit in a pepper spray mixture for a good hour. Honestly don't remember if I had any pain from the stab wound itself.

Hope that knee quiets up quickly ,bro! Old nagging injuries are the worst.

If you like biofreeze, you might look for stuff called relief. To me, it seems to go deeper and is a little stronger.

That's hilarious!!! Sucks it happened, but a great story

With my neck and back, I was basically addicted to biofreeze for a long time. It's crazy effective and leaves no IcyHot stank. Relief took it up a notch tho. Slight minty stank, but so worth it!

My wife got it from a massage therapist a while back. I couldn't find any more local so I snagged it on Amazon when I ran out. Invalid Link Removed

Need Noodz or its just talk!!! lol.

That is the best when people notice it. It is hard to notice progress yourself when you see it everyday..
every time I look in the mirror I tell my self you look like crap. we will never be satisfied, that is what keeps us going. If it was easy everyone would do it!
It pisses my wife off when she is in the bathroom and I say this!
