measuring bulk ph powder

hey guys, I just got my scale in today, and somethin's wrong with it, i dont wanna send it back yet if I don't have to but I can't get it calibrated right apparently, it says I need a 50 gram mass to calibrate it, which I don't have, I could just order one but I was wondering if anybody know how much of a teaspoon 300mg of 4ad would be

and just in case you're wondering I'm planning on cycles in 2 years, just want to get my info down now while people are still into ph and might know the answer to this question

Mine has a calibration function, but I didn't need to use that function to get it to work when new. I think it should come calibrated from the manufacturer. When you turn it on, let it just sit there for a few seconds and it should zero out on it's own. Does it not do this? Make sure it's on a flat level surface and see what happens. Maybe your too anxious and not letting it settle down and zero out.

Honerstly, I wouldn't go by a spoonful estimate of anything to tare the scale. Either find something of a certain weight to use, or get the real tare block and use it.
 
I'm at the office, otherwise I would weigh a number of quarters, like 10 or more, and post the weight, then you can compare your scale's readings and maybe calibrate with that, someone try that and post it.
