McEnroe admits to Steriod use

Of all the AAS out there, that jackass takes deca. Didn't they know it's detectable for a almost a year. Shaking my head at the stupidity.

I thought Agassi comments were funny. Never stated that he didnt do steroids (although the article implies that), or that they were bad, but instead he remarks that he is at "loss for words" for WHY McEnroe admitted to it. Seems to me Agassi wants to keep it hidden.

I like this one-

"For six years I was unaware I was being given a form of steroid of the legal kind they used to give horses until they decided it was too strong even for horses," McEnroe said.

I don't know who this Mcenroe dude is w/o seeing him, but is this guy big or something? I mean do you really think that Agassi juiced? He doesn't look like it IMO. Even if it were to just lean out, he doesn't even look like he's in very good shape compared to other athletes his age.

And how the fvck is someone gonna not know they're takin' the $hit? Gimme a break. Maybe the more people get caught, the more international opinion will be swayed.........crossing fingers.

McEnroe knew. His ex wife, Tatum ONeill, stated as such in her book. He started taking them after injury and was trying to get back to the top of his game.

Steroids are widespread in all sports and to think otherwise would be foolish...It's a shame, but with all the pressure to be the best, with all the endorsements and the lifestyle it's hard not too....

Mcenroe is about the skinniest guy you can imagine. He'd be lucky if he weighed 130 pounds.

While maybe he was in shape, I just don't see the point on why he admitted using anything. I mean he had no muscles in his body. He looked like a twig.

He did NOT use AAS.

He was given two drugs -- Butazolidin and prednisone -- for six years. Butazolidin is a nonsteriodal inflammatory drug, while prednisone is a corticosteroid.
"Years later, after I had stomach ulcer issues, I found out that Butazolidin was no longer being prescribed to horses because it was too strong," he said.

.

I think steroids woudl be very benifical to tennis players. They wouldn't want to look big and draw attention. I don't think they would use it to lean out but to get the effects that potent androgens have on the nervous system such as super strong with out much increase in weight. Sort of like powerlifters in the lighter classes.

Size.......

I'm glad you cleared that up. I was wondering what steroids were too strong for horses, and where I might possibly be able to obtain some?

:D

Yeah, that would be a point to make for it I guess.

Someone said earlier that Agassi was out of shape.....I strongly disagree with that. The guy is the world's oldest person to hold the number one ranking at the age of 33. That's old by tennis standards. He out there competing with 21 and 22 year olds and WINNING Grand Slams, clearly he's not out of shape.

The controversy with steroids in tennis lies in the fact that the ATP may have supplied the players with suppliments that contained banned substances. At least that's what Greg R says....(lol)

Tennis players on roids?

I'm picturing really skinny dudes with huge calves and one enormous arm. lol

Well, by saying he's out of shape, I think there are a lot of other 33 yr. olds out there that "look" better than him. Now internally speaking yes, he definately has what it takes to keep up.

I think that I understand what you are saying Jergo. By in shape you mean "big and cut to shreds" There are alot of athletes that are bigger than Andre, tennis doesn't require that you be huge, power in tennis comes from the mechanics of hitting the ball correctly. There are alot of players skinner than Andre, but hit the ball almost as hard. Andy Roddick is fairly lean yet he can crank out serves routinely in the 140 mph range. Having said all of that Andre is bigger than most tennis players, and he can bench about 340 according to his personal trainer.

BTW he is in the Australian Open semi-final and I hope he wins his 9th Grand Slam title down under......GO ANDRE.

Thats funny you say that man. My sister who is now 28, used to kick my a$$ at tennis growing up. And she weighed like a buck 25, heh....

lol...tennis is a slow growth sport, it is frustrating learing to play it, but it is the most fun in my book. I love tennis, but in the past year i've goten into bodybuilding and it's tiring to play both, so right now i'm sticking with bodybuilding.

I don't necessarily think that the two are incompatiable though, if you look at Serena Williams..lol (she might just be jucing) You never see any huge tennis players like you do say football players, and right now I want to get big.
