McDonalds Diet

Ive got to say "well done" to her.

I dont eat fast food (when cutting  ) and i dont like Mc D's really as a company but what i hate the most are people who say things like :

"Mc D's made me fat so i'm going to sue them"

What this lady has done is shown that you CANT sue a fast food chain for making you fat, because if your sensible you CAN eat their food and lose/maintain your wieght.

If you eat badly your have noone to blame but yourself.

It doesn't matter what you're eating. To a point...

The important factors are nutrient ratios and their relation to your training regime. Along with kcal intake of course. ;)

Read the news carefully - from 227 to 190. So she went from totally obese to very fat. She could have done that with nearly any unhealthy diet in the world.

No...not really....she had to be in caloric deficit with proper macro breakdowns, as LO stated above.

I work with fat peopl all day, and trust me....the don't just lose 30lbs of fat by eating less fast food.

Exactly my point. Is Mcdonald's greasy burgers and fries more important or macro nutrient proportions and caloric intake? The news made it seem like it was a miracle that people could lose weight with fast food.

Oh...I agree on that point. The news was just lookin' for "news". I hate our media :( Very, ver, very x 10^10^10 much....

Kudos to her for dropping the pounds. McDonalds does have some *decent* stuff on their menu that I'll eat in a pinch if Im travelling and there's no food around. Better to get *some* calories in than starve for sure.

But, she would have been way better off cooking healthy food and eating proper meals at home.

Her macros probably looked like this:

Lost 36lbs - started at 175 11cals/lb

breakfast: Egg mcmuffin, hash browns, fruit yogurt and coffee

Lunch: 2 hamburgers small fries fruit yogurt small coke

dinner: California cob, grilled chicken no dressing, vanilla reduced ice cream

coffee.

total cals 2045

protein 89g 17%

carbs 259g 51%

fat 68g 30% of which 50% was saturated

Total sodium 3623

total chol 465

Still total calories are what counts - problem areas down the road? Saturated

fat, high sodium and high cholesterol; but if she has normal BP I guess what's the big deal.

science and nutrition applies everywhere except at McDonalds. imagine that...
