Police: 20 feared dead after Florida nightclub terror attack
Orlando, Florida (CNN)Approximately 20 people are dead inside Pulse, a gay nightclub, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said Sunday morning, just hours after a shooter opened fire in the club. At least 42 people have been transported for medical treatment, he said.

Police have shot and killed the gunman, Mina told reporters.
"It's appears he was organized and well-prepared," the chief said, adding that the shooter had an assault-type weapon, a handgun and "some type of (other) device on him." Law enforcement sources told CNN that the device, which was strapped to the suspect, was possibly explosive, but authorities don't know if it was real or not.

What is wrong with people? Why does this stuff keep happening? I lost faith in humanity a long time ago, but these mass shootings really need to stop..

In my opinion They keep making these people famous is what the problem is, I get covering it on the news but when people do crazy things like this their name becomes known so other people with that mentality to do this see an opportunity to go out with a bang and get fame. It might not be the case in this shooting but I believe it could be a big part of it

Big news where I am. How one person can destroy so many lives is beyond understanding. This extends far beyond those sadly deceased, but also their families, survivors and first responders as well.

This is a terrible senseless tragedy.

The networks coverage of this event is the most disgusting opportunistic ratings sensation I have ever seen. It's deplorable how they have made an industry out of tragedy. I want the news but not at the expense of exacerbating the drama simply for the dramatic effect. It's disgusting what they are doing. There is nothing sacred anymore.

There is a pastor in Sacramento praising the killings saying it's sad that more people weren't killed...smh I'm sorry but I hate religion

Anyone get pissed off at Obama blaming this on radical Republicans! Everytime we have a big terrorist attack, Obama justifies their actions by blaming it on something we did. Like Benghazi and the fukking YouTube video he tried blaming it on, and apologized for. Even if it was what set them off it doesn't changed what they did and we have freedom of speech. How about Obama grows a pair of testicles and actually take charge of the military and not take this sh!t. Ugh he is the worst president ever and with all the crap he has pulled I can't believe he hasn't been impeached

I can't even imagine what the investigators were feeling then

We had a Virginia State Police supervisor speak at our church a couple weeks back. He said it was the exact same thing securing the class rooms at Virginia Tech in the aftermath of the massacre there.

He was a US citizen. What's Obama gonna do? Invade the US?

I figured this thread was somewhere by now...

Just wanted to pass condolences to anyone however distantly effected, even just reading along maybe.

I can't imagine how immensely this has impacted many lives...

I was meaning in general, not just this instance. Also not saying war or invading anywhere is the solution, but blaming sh!t is never the right thing

Oh right i see

Yes. It is his attitude when dealing with any foreign and domestic policy is like a his. Aka he doesn't want to take action or responsible, so he blames it on something else. Do you think any of our former great commander and chiefs(FDR, Reagan, ETC ETC) would play the blame game, let alone blame our own people. Especially with everything we have going on from Russia, ISIS, North Korea, to China we need a strong military leader just as much as ever; IMO.

The scary thing is no matter who we elect in this next election will be worse, but for different reasons.

I dont know. Im not from the US.

Plus this would create a huge discussion over how ISIS was created, why it was created and why people are joining up in force
