Male birth control?

Dr. John, i would like your professional opinion on a certain issue.

it is my understanding that there are male birth control pills in development that use large doses of progesterone coupled with monthly injections of testosterone to serve as a form of male birth control.

However, it appears that testosterone injections alone can cause an almost equal decrease within a 2-3 month period.

i assume they are using HRT type doses.

Let us assume that an individual has been taking close to a gram of testosterone enanthate coupled with 750mgs of boldenone undecylate since the beginning of september 2006.

how well do you think that little combo is doing the trick.

I have read..Although I MISread quite often...that while normal to above normal doses of Test do indeed cause temporary halt in sperm production, very large doses(a gram) can cause Sperm production to begin again.

Again, I stress that I misread things often but I am pretty sure I read that correct!

well i belive the individual in question just upgraded to a full gram of testosterone a week, and switched off the boldenone for 400mgs of nandrolone decoanate a week.

This is more out of curiousity than anything. i get the impression doctor john is hesitant to offer an opinion.

if a gram of tesosterone wont shut an individual's sperm production down (honestly, i doubt that it wouldnt), then 400mgs of a progestin should definitely help.

Maybe when the gyno cases from this treatment pop up then they will figure out the uses of arimidex.

Currently its Nebido and Progestin there using for Male birth control, 1st trial went ok.

yup, the progestin/testosterone combo seems to be the way to go. it is just a question of exactly what type of progestin they are using.

i wonder if they have even given nandrolone a shot (no pun intended).

If my insurance covers it, i am going to attempt to get my sperm count checked. I cant imagine its doing too well. i am also controlling estrogen with a tamoxifen/anastrazole combination. most of the supression is coming directly from the testosterone, and im sure the nandrolone will soon take over as the main supressor.

is no one else interested in this?

This quote is from 1998 but it mentions progesterone, I wonder if there using depo provera, I dont know too much about progestins.

It involves testosterone and progestin, that is a synthetic form of the female hormone, progesterone, in combination which seems to give very effective suppression to switch off sperm production effectively to zero, or very near zero, and that provides very reliable contraception as long as the treatment's maintained.
