ok i am looking to buy a VOIP service,i need to purchase a wireless router.currently i use the airport express for both my imacs but i need a router with ethernet ports for the phone service.basically i want to know how easy it was to use a non mac router(ie a airport express or the airport extreme).did you have to use additional software?

I recieved a "Onewire" wireless DSL router from ATT, and it works like a charm with all the macs in my house (two wireless, two via ethernet). Set up was through Internet Explorer, which was sort of odd, but was very simple. I've never had wireless issues with my Macbook at any hotspot, so assuming most wireless access isn't Airport, it's got to be pretty much standard.

any wifi router will work with ur mac, i use one just fine with my ibook.
No additional software is needed, your mac will find the router once it's fired up :)
