Lowering Hematocrit - My Plan

I've always struggled with high hematocrit on standard TRT 100-125mg/week doses. Even when properly hydrated my hematocrit is consistently between 52-53. Prior to TRT it was 45 and I have no history of sleep apnea nor am I overweight.

I made a few changes noted below and as of the latest bloodwork results I am now sitting at 48! Quite a drop from a few simple things. If anyone has anything they would suggest I modify or add please let me know. I kind of went with the nuclear stack so I can't say for sure which one of these impacted it the most but I am very happy with it lowering 4-5 points and not getting flagged high anymore.

  • Nattokinase 8000 FU Total split morning/evening on empty stomach
  • Grape Seed Extract 250MG/day
  • 20MG Telmisartan/day - Possibly lowers hematocrit as an added benefit to BP
  • Hard Biking for 30 minutes a day - To help increase blood plasma levels thus reducing hematocrit

52-53 is what I would call perfect for myself

@Smont I completely agree with everything you noted. It shouldn't be an issue but doctor noted that on my checkup and dont want him to reduce my dose or take me off. I did not have any high hematocrit symptoms.

To not rattle any feathers, theses are just educated opinions and some fact.

( I'm no medical Doctor and I'm no professional on anything.I'm just going by the things that I've learned and more Up to date seems that this has been very blown out of proportion for a long time.)

I get it tho, honestly it's a touchy subject for many. I do think more and more Dr. Are starting to realize but many still don't. They love to say high hematocrit will kill you but NO1 dies from high hematocrit, the body's don't exist. It does increase clotting risk, def not good if your unhealthy to begin with, but healthy males with no underlying conditions And good BP, im (ME) cool with anything 50 to 55. Given everything else is in range and in check. There's performance enhancement effects, that's why ppl take epo. No I'm not suggesting ppl should do that lol

The best thing you can do if you want to lower hematocrit is being hydrated and it can make a big difference. Your 52 could be a gallon of water away from a 48.

Bump your telmasartan to 40 (20 wont help) and you should always be hydrated but especially the 2 days leading up to the next one get well hydrated and drink a half gallon of water that morning Because....

Dehydration is the most common cause of a false high reading.
