Low Test

Hi guys Im new here. I have been feeling fatigued for the last three years now. Went to the doctor and had blood test done. My total test levels was 170. They want me to come back in for another appointment. Is it worth going? Do you think he will put me on from test replacement theropy and is it a benefit.
 
What else did they test you for?

170 is definetly low and needs attention.

If nothing else go back to see what they have to say and make your next decision based on that.
 
They told me my FSH was 17.8. and my LH was in the middle of the normal range. They also checked prolactin which was also normal, what ever that is.
 
wow 170? that is one of the lowest i've heard. he will definitely prescribe HRT. if your doc doesnt prescribe test cyp injections, you need to find one that does. androgel might be ok for some, but it's a much bigger hassle long-term, and it looks like you might be on forever....

also, the possibility exists that you are only secondarily hypogonadal and HCG/HMG might bring you in line....but considering your LH was normal, that doesnt seem likely.
 
Thanks for the replys. Does the gels work better than the injections? Just trying to gather as much information as possible before my appt. on Monday.
 
What is your steroid use history? I'm curious because that is a ridiculously low level. Injection all the way. And if he doesn't put you on HRT - there are places out there that would certainly do it at those levels if you are over 30.
 
I have never used steriods, but I have used prohormones. Mostly 4AD and the old androstene. The last time was about 4 to 5 years ago. What about Propecia? I have used it for two years , but this last year I went of it because it was killing my sex drive.
