Low Serotonin & Melatonin

Im wondering what are good ways to increase sertonin?

I only know of 5-HTP (5 Hydroxytryptophan). Which i am planning on using.

In regards to low serotonin my main problem would be food cravings in particularly for sugars and sweet foods regardless of hunger so i want to control that.

Also i constantly awake from sleep like 3 times per night at 1 to 1 1/2 hour intervals after i fall asleep each time awaking with food cravings. I have never tested my serotonin but my saliva melatonin levels are nonexistant at 1!

I really need to this fix this problem because i am not getting consistent noninterupted sleep my sleep is constantly in sections and it has been like this for the past 3 years.

Anyone else have low serotonin symptoms?

low methylatioin - low serotonoin
Sitting in front of computer all day to 11 pm or greater = low melatonin as well.

l tryptophan is a precursor of serotonin as well and has really helped me sleep.

You need to take a lot, I take more than 3 grams per night.

I dont sit in front of the computer all day at least not anymore. I go to the gym when i dont feel ill, basketball and tennis also. Just depends on how i feel.

Yes low methylation = low energy, low neurotransmitters, bad mood, poor healing, poor detoxification and DNA replication.

My specific gene mutation MTHFR will cause problems with serotonin and dopamine as well also too much histamine being release (hence my allergies) plus poor ammonia detoxification (reason why im not handling meat as well as i used to in my diet).

All the pieces of the puzzle are finely fitting nicely.

Anyway im going to try out 5HTP see how it helps my sleep. If i could piece together a whole 8 hours of sleep at least one night it would be fantastic!
