Low Fat or Low Carb?

Me and my buddy were debating this and I figured I'd ask you guys what you have success with when cutting/recomp.

Doesn't matter for fat loss.

Calories >>> macros

It's totally personal... For me both is really the answer (with carb filled refeeds). I can do ok on either, but in combination, it's like magic

As mentioned, it's personal and by and large doesn't matter... I do find myself though, that with a higher fat diet, I find it much easier to eat at a deficit due to the satiety of fat vs carbs. Plus from a health perspective, I would never advocate low fat for very long anyway. A weekly carb up is also a very good idea, and I do this myself.

I can cut and lose weight nicely when I keep carbs fairly low, protein same at about 30% or a bit higher.

High fat intake doesn't agree with my body lol.. I like trimming visible fat, avoid trans.. and not going over board with salad dressings and added oil in cooking.

My workouts suck if I take my carbs too low so I prefer moderate carb, moderate fat.

This I think it good to have a balance.
Drop your calories from both carbs & fats. Eat the right kind of carbs/fats (health perspective) & profit.

For me I feel like I lose weight on low carb, but I also lose muscle mass when I do this. As long as I'm active I keep my carb levels fairly moderate.
