Looks like AROD is going to the Yankees

I'm more interested in getting a great replacement for Antowain Smith..... Ooops, wrong thread, my bad ;)
 
Why are we even suprised. I hate the Yanks with a passion and they traded or obtained few of my favorite non-mariners in the past few years (giambi, arod, vasquez, brown). Just like with Giamni, im sure ill end up hating the other three as well. They aint winning it all anyways. Shoot, ill give the Sox a better chance to get to the Series when they can put out martinez, chilling, and lowe in a playoff series. GO MARINERS!!!

This is why baseball sucks and why I don't watch or care about it. To have such disparity in what teams can pay for the players they want it is just stupid. This is why baseball is dying and I say good riddance. The NFL got it right with how to make it even amongst teams in revenue sharing and a hard salary cap. Now if only Hockey could get its act together and save their sport from extinction all would be well.

I personally hate salary caps cause Eddie DeBartolo used to spend major cash and got my 49ers 5 Lombardi trophies doing it. I hate the Yanks but I admire Steinbrenner's true COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE ( Take that Raiders fans LOL ). The Yanks look better than the Sox right now, their pitching is not as bad as people think. Vasquez just didn't have much support or recognition in Montreal but he'll tear it up.

I think the Sox did overpay for Keith Foulke, the only reason he won 8 games as a closer was because he blew a lot of games but the A's bailed him out in extra innings, I'm sure you guys remember Foulke choking for the A's in game 4 last year, get used to it.

BTW, the Pats can find a replacement for Antwan Smith. Eddie George, Deuce Staley, Corey Dillon, and Garrison Hearst should be available. They can even swing a trade for Travis Henry since Buffalo has Willis McGahee waiting in the wings.
 
first off....**** the yankees. Growing up a sox fan is possibly the hardest thing a sports fan can go through...those of you who are fans probly know what im talking about. This upcoming season will be one for the ages, I hope.

Secondly I doubt the pats will make a move for corey dillon or eddie. Eddie is old and injury prone and corey has a mouth and an ego that wont work with bill's coaching system. Id like to see them go after Travis Henry though...

I agree almost totally. I am a HUGE baseball fan. It is like a religion to me. I cannot stand MLB the way it is right now though. I'd rather go to a minor league game any day. The NFL is the best managed out of all of the sports and Paul Tagliavu (however you spell that) deserves a freaking Nobel Prize for what he has done with that league.

You didn't pay attention? The reason the Yanks got A-rod is becasue they lost Boone to injury. This is the Sox' year? Is that before or after Pedro and SChilling get hurt in Sept?
 
yeh i know thats why they got him, I meant more along the lines of what the exact injury was....after i heard he was injured i didn't pay any attention to it and to tell you the truth ever since seeing arod in a yanks hat, i change the channel when i see him
 
Jeter, Williams, Arod, Giambi, Posada, Matsui, Sheffield, Lofton...... its just gonna be that much sweeter to see this much talent not win the Series. THey will definitely give the 39' Yanks a stiff challenge for the most run scored in a single season by a team. But in the end, they're not even making it to the Series (boston, oak, SEATTLE!!)

blah, who cares about that...his best days are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind him. Now I'm sure that i'll hear the same exact thing about schilling and pedro but id take either of them over greg any day
