I have come across an opportunity that will help ease some of my family time issues.
I am taking the weekend shift at my job. It will be 3-12 hours days for a total of 36 hours. I will get a 4 hour weekend premium. So I will get paid for 40. To top that off I will get a 15% shift differential, meaning a 15% wage increase for those hours. So at the end of the day I will be working 36 hours over three days making as much as I would working 46-48 hours over 5 days. I do have the option of putting in hours during the week without the premium and differential but it will automatically be at overtime wages of time and a half.
This should free up a lot of time for my daughter, rest, and some time to work on my career change aspirations. I am super anxious for this switch to take place and it could be in the next week or so. Good things do happen.
