Lipitor alternatives

Flat Bench

So they ran my blood panels and my LDL and triglycerides are through the roof and my HDL is low. Also blood pressure was 160/90. Doc prescribed 10mg Lipitor for the cholesterol and triglycerides and 50mg Losartan for the BP. I am 47 years old 5'8" and weigh 220 lbs. I have been basically powerbuilding for 30 plus years not once giving a hoot about cardio or aesthetics. Just size and strength please thank you very much😁. I started on the Losartan, cleaned up my diet and added 30 min steady state cardio daily on the stationary bike. I'm hesitant to take the Lipitor because I've read it weakens muscle and causes pain, among other things. So I'm interested to find out about any effective natural supplements that lower LDL and triglycerides. Also, recommendations for a Non-Stimulant fat burner as well. Thank you.

I think you’re on the right track so far. Losing some weight will definitely help. I started SNS cholesterol Support about 6 weeks ago. I’ll have follow up bloods in 10 days to see if it’s helped but it looks like a good formula.

As far as non stim fat burners I’d say SNS Lean Edge is probably the best all around and affordable. I think SNS Lean GLP could also be good too for your goal.

I agree with Halfnatty…..the best thing to start with is cleaning up the diet and adding cardio, which you are doing. I also take SNS Cardiovascular Support XT and another good one for you to add is SNS Blood Pressure Support XT. You should still take your Losartan for your BP….actually you should still take all your medications along with doing the diet, cardio, and supplements, get bloodwork again in 4-6 weeks and see if the improvements get you in the normal range before trying to stop meds. Don’t know if you’ve done a steroid cycle recently, but obviously that gets your bloodwork out of range as well, but should start to return to normal with clean diet and cardio.

I don't mind the Losartan but I don't want to start on the Lipitor given the horror stories I've been reading. I'm reading good things about Nature Made Cholestoff.

I was thinking of starting the cholestrerol support xt. I would be interested to hear how your next bloods come back and if your LDL and HDL improved.

Your quest is over.
Trained by JP nutrition (UK) do heart care and love heart. I used both and made significant improvements in cholesterol and lipid profile in 3m.
Outstanding quality ingredients. Can’t say you’ll find any better.

This is the product to use. It's new, and my wife switched over to it recently when it came out, after having great success with iForce Heart Help (discontinued), and NOW Cholesterol Pro. Cholesterol Support XT is a much better formula.

Add in Blood Pressure Support XT or Cardiovascular support XT and I'd bet your docs would be very surprised at the results.

If the OTC options don't get you there ask your doctor for ezetimibe and or bempedoic acid. They don't have the muscle related sides statins do.

Agreed here. I've been taking Cardiovascular Support XT daily for awhile now. All the right ingredients to keep my heart running like a well oiled machine :)

The blood pressure is the real immediate concern here. (Silent killer).
But w/ added cardio and some (a bit) of weight loss, it should lower.

Can you post your lipid-levels here so we can see actual numbers?
If Doc is suggesting 10mg to start, are your numbers really 'thru the roof' ?

Not everyone gets sides from every drug. Only side I got from statins was it tanked my Test-levels.
(Testosterone is made in our cholesterol, so its also very important).

This stuff is supposed to have actual Monocolin-K, which is "natural, fermented Lovastatin".

But I always look for overseas companies where its actually legal to buy (monocolin-k). (Here in the US, FDA and Big Pharma stole this natural product, made it synthetically (lipitor) and pushed it on the masses for the biggest seller in history making billion after billion - $$$$$$$$.

You can look for things like this one, where 3 pills is around 10mg of Monocolin-k.

Article where they say "hidden drug"

Our country is moronic. Monacolin-k is natural from the fermentation.
FDA took this compound, which has been used in Asia for a million years with hardly any heart disease (and tons of crazy smokers), made it their own, profitted in every way possible, and then try to steer the public w/ their lies.

How bad were your hdl, ldl, and triglycerides ? Were they fasting ? Non fasting will nullify triglycerides .

The muscle problems with statins is largely a myth that has been perpetuated by the internet . Yes, they can cause myalgias in about 1 in 10 patients . They also cause myalgias in another 9 out of 10 patients that read the internet. The 10 mg dose is a baby dose. Literally the smallest recommended dose. Yes, they do raise a1c/ fasting sugars slightly. Treatment effect is about 0.1-0.2 % on that.

It really depends on your numbers. If your ldl is over 200 I don’t know that I would trust something herbal. The good thing about dealing with cholesterol is that it really takes 5-10 years of taking/not taking to see a treatment benefit in the studies when being used for primary prevention . You have time if you do want to try something herbal, lose weight, do cardio , and substantially decrease saturated fats and red meat

The losartan isn’t going to cause any issues , I would take it and work to make the changes and it’s within the realm of possibility that your BP might come down with those changes but I wouldn’t wait to start that personally . Can always stop it later if things improve

Reminds me of two supplements the late Matt Porter put out years ago called HeartSolve and Cardiosolve except JP Nutrition added Nattokinase and Astaxanthin.

Just wanted to follow up here.
After 6 weeks with cholesterol support xt my LDL is down from 131 to 123, Total cholesterol is down from 196 to 187. Unfortunately another variable is last time I was taking CoQ10 and this time I wasn't. So it possibly could have been better yet which I'll probably add back for next time. Not at all where I want to be yet, but getting better.

Statins aren't the evil that many people have portrayed them as. I've been on atorvastatin for a couple years now and no side effects at all. The thing about statins is they work undoubtedly whereas herbal remedies may or may not work depending on the person and cause of high cholesterol. What will hurt your gains and cause you a great set back is a heart attack...I know from experience. If you experience side effects from the statin talk to your doc, there are alternatives. Best of luck to you.

10mg Rosuvastatin took mine from 348 to 160 in 6 weeks. ApoB off the charts..Diet didn't do anything. Anything keto based made it way worse. Red yeast rice from Asia..my liver laughed at it. Most people with high levels are just genetically predisposed to it and it gets worse the older you get. My father had the same and he ran marathons and still was in the 300's. He's been on them for 20 yrs and blood work never looked better.

I had to get a CT Scan with contrast on my heart to make sure I was ok because I was so high. Luckily my score was zero across the board, mainly because I've been very active most of my life but I'm not messing with it anymore. I'll take it and be happy I did.

If you're not over 200 I woudln't be too worried about it especially if your diet contributed to it...just keep an eye on it over the next couple of years and try to get bloods done when you are eating clean and active and that will show you the trend you will see over your lifetime. If it keeps going up, you will probably have to take them but if everything stabilizes with good diet, you won't.
