Leaky Joints

Anybody ever heard of this? It's technically called a Ganglion Cyst. I was diagnosed with it on my finger. In a nutshell, it's basically synovial fluid leaking from a joint and forming a cyst.

Initially, I didn't know what it was! My Dr diagnosed it as a wart & said Compound W will clear it up. Well, after about 5 days, the outer skin died off but the lump was still there.

I bumped/scraped it across something and it hurt like hell!! I've never had a wart before, but I didn't think they were painful. I looked at it & it was oozing a clear gelatinous substance. I squeezed it and more came out, followed by a tiny bit of blood.

At this point, I was referred to a dermatologist where she immediately told me what it really is.

I've had it for about 5 months now. When it gets big, I pierce it with an insulin needle and squeeze the gel out.

The Dr told me a couple different options for treatment, but I'm finally back to work after taking 3 months off for my acl. I really don't need to be taking more time off..

Anybody familiar with this? Anybody had one & had it medically fixed?

The pics are from a few minutes ago.

This sounds a lot like my severe bursitis. It's in my elbow and knuckle closest to palm on left hand. I was told that it gets better for everyone over time but will need to be drained/removed periodically. For me after a year is when it started to subside greatly for both of them.

Yep, got one of those a few years back training strongman on the back of my wrist. Just joint fluid leaking out from strain, makes a little pocket. Hurt like a B under a tight wrist wrap, but it never affected anything. It went away after a long time, occasionally fills a little bit once in a blue moon.

That does not look like any ganglin cyst that I've ever seen, I've had them on my wrist before but it didn't look like that. There probably the most common cysts. My grandma use to call them Bible cysts because when you got one they would have someone hold your arm still and smash it with a Bible lol

Lmao!! Somebody smashes mine, they're gonna need more than the Lord to protect them!!

Pretty sure I did actually smash mine with my thumb and felt the fluid disperse out of it. Not too bad.
I had one on the outside of my wrist that I couldn't get to pop no matter what I smashed it with it was like the size of a golf ball. And one day I was carrying a TV through a doorway and I smashed my wrist on the doorway and it popped lol

Nowadays they tell you not to pop them because it can release some kind of bacteria into your bloodstream or something

It's already grown again!! Fixin to pierce it & squeeze hard!! I take pics & send them to the wife & kids. Lol. My wife hates me!🤣🤣

Can you use a fine needle and squeeze the **** out of it, does it go flat? if so I would do that apply some anti bac cream then tightly wrap it haha

I did an in/out with it today and squeezed it like crazy, but I'm at work and don't have access to any kind of neosporin.

It is usually in first aid kits, if there are any around.

My son had a Ganglion Cyst in his knee. Physical therapy didn't clear it up. He needed it surgically removed. The surgery wasn't very invasive, and recovery was fast.
