L-arginine

Hi

I've been reading few things about GH stimulation using L-arginine, because it's said in some studys that it suppresses somatostatin secretion, but some questions have come to my mind: does this studis relly on l-arginine given IV via? Does L-arginine supplements have any real world effects on GH level? If it does what dosage is needed? In terms of GH boosting does any other form of arginine work better than simple l-arginine?
Sorry for making so many questions at the same time but when a guy puts his brain at work, situations like these happen:laugh2:

cheers

My understanding is the L-arginine's effect is age dependent, because your somatostatin secretion increases significantly as you get older. Therefore, if you are over forty, suppressing somatostatin can restore your GH to youthful levels, but otherwise it won't do much for your GH level because you aren't producing much somatostatin to begin with.

Most studies I've seen use 30g of arginine intravenously administered over 30min to induce GH release; however, arginine has a high oral availability, so I don’t believe taking intravenously is necessary.
