Killn' The Cube: My powerlifting venture begins

Did some treadmill/heavy bag/ab/mobility work today.

More importantly; I'm in the market for a new pistol. Anyone want to recommend something? Budget is around 7 bills. I kind of want a glock 9 mill because of the reliability and cheap ammo, but everyone has a damn glock.

I like duty weapon, Sig 229. My little S&W is good/easy for concealed carry. A Springfield XD 45 would be tits.

Or...an FN 5.7...depending on local gun laws.

Yeah, I'm looking for something good to carry. My buddy has the Springfield XDS .45, it's definitely a little bulldog. Though it was recalled for catastrophic failure, haha. I'll check out the FN 5.7.

Every military guy or cop I know has a Glock. That kind of deters me, but it's hard to overlook the quality of a Glock.
There's a reason they have become so popular and have gone up substantially in value. I can put it in the toilet, shït on it, leave it there overnight and put a thousand rounds through it the next day with no issues. They're very user friendly. Mine's a .40 and fits in any pocket with a normal cap mag. The lady at Applebee's isn't even aware that she shouldn't bring me an over cooked steak.

FWIW I'd have a Glock as well if it weren't for gay gun laws

Edit: You guys should look into taking a Utah Non-resident course. Large amount of reciprocity laws.

Very true. I hate overcooked meat as well. I like my meat to moo at me.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Will check it out.

s&w airweight +p

lol, i just noticed dog slobber ftw! she was in my seat when me and rebecca were eating...

I need to start carrying more. I can't carry on the base I live on, so I have to pull over the side of the road once I get out of the gates and load up, then download on the way on. Sucks balls.

well that's kind of stupid. they give you a gun to do your job, but you can't carry on base.

yep, that's our government...

Base Commanders rule. No CCW on base. I pulled some LEO law-ness out of my ass so they wouldn't get upset about the OC spray that day (you need a firearms permit to have one in MA and I was new)

Cincy- I typed in "FN 5.7 Pennsylvania" and people were taking about where to buy them. I assume it's legal there. That'd be ****ing sick.

You dream in a very expensive way. Kimber, the Rolex of 1911s

Yeah I do. I need to impregnate a wealthy slam pig and tell her if she doesn't buy me a Kimber than I'm taking the kid. It's full proof.

Great idea. That way you can end up having toy cars instead of the gun when she says no

Westside: Week 4- ME bench

Pin-press 1" off chest:
225x5
255x2
275x2
305x2 (PR)

Pin-press back down:
185xlight shorts
205x5x2+light shorts (PR)

Standing OHP:
135x8x2
135 AMAP- 13

Banded press downs SS DB side laterals: 25/20x3- 2 onyx's/25's

Felt STRONG. So glad I opted to skip deload, I'm really hitting my stride now.

Some blonde girl, HAWT, asked me to help her with her squat form. Daddy just couldn't say no, so I didn't get to finish everything. Tmrw, I'm getting after it too.

Got the 305x2 on vid, going to put it up shortly.

Looked like your butt lifted off the bench.

Agreed. It's getting more subtle as the weeks pass though. I honestly believe it could be due to the bench set up. That is a bo flex bench with wheels, it's VERY low to the ground.

I'm not one to make up excuses, but I think that bench is a factor. I'll know for certain when I get to Larry Pacifico's gym.

When are you doing that?

Within a month. I have a lot of different things going on ATM. Bouncing around from city to city with little time in between. I'm excited to go, I'll probably go crazy with all their specialty stuff.

I have a girl in my group project from London, Ohio and she didn't even know what EliteFts was. SmH.
My buddy's mom was talking to us about her friends who started this company who sets up these "things" for "these big games". These friends my buddy grew up with in Ohio. I asked her the last name and she said his name is Bill Henniger. I was like GTFOH and she shows me pics of them together. (The Hennigers started Rogue). Small world.

Haha, definitely a small world. I think it's safe to say she discounted the magnitude of her friends achievements.

Yeah, I was visiting my buddy in NC at the time. I had my jump rope and a couple of other rogue items with me. I showed them to her and then showed her the crossfit games on YouTube and she was quite surprised. She's very wealthy herself, though, so I don't think it was the money thing that played a role in her surprise. I asked her to get me some free gear. I have yet to see my monster rig...

Lots of guys that help me out following along in here. Along to soak up knowledge if it's cool with the man in charge.

Get in here boss; a lot of knowledgable guys without a doubt. I hope this log can be one of many platforms that contribute to your learning.

The rest of what I didn't get to finish yesterday, day?

DB row:
100x6x3
110x6

I want to thank all you DB row monsters for pushing me on these. Heaviest I've ever gone.

Chest supported DB reverse fly SS banded pull aparts: 20/30- 25's/onyx band

What do you guys use for pull aparts?

Cat-back lat pulls:
x40
x40
x30
x25

Croc row:
95x8x3
120x6x1 (I count bar as 45)

Banded pull aparts: 50x1

DB hammer curl: 6x4- 45's (very strict)

Preacher curl (RP): 20/13/8- 60

Good day. I've been logging EVOL and it's a great PWO, if any of you guys are looking to try something different. It's not a kick in the face pre, but builds throughout. Energy/focus is great.

Never heard of the cat- back lat pulls. Good old you tube. But I like. Gonna put those on the list for next time I change my back lifts out

I love them, they really make sure you're squeezing/retracting hard. A lot more guys on here utilized them a few months ago, I still keep them in my rotation. Love em.

I constantly rotate back exercises as well to make sure I'm hitting all angles. My back has responded well.

I've picked up a lot of new back lifts by lurking around am. This looks like a good one for me. My back is jacked up so gotta be careful.

Rant of the day:

I hate how colleges and universities hire such a large population of foreigners. I mean it wouldn't be a problem if they spoke English fluidly and coherently, but that is not always the case. I have to keep a GPA above 3.5 if I want a realistic shot at going officer.

Imagine studying the economics of international markets when you're being professed by the Taliban (joking). This is what I'm confronted with. I am my own teacher and learning becomes exponentially more difficult.

That is all and I will find a way to get an A.

Here's some ideas for you. Haven't read it yet, but I imagine it'll have a few good nuggets:

That is exactly how I train. If you were to look at the exercises on each of my training days and look at the article, you would be hard pressed to find a variance.
