Yeah, that more closely resembles it. My power rack is too narrow for wiiiide. But, I'm excited to try it under heavy ass weight. Going to have to stay on top of dat der mobility work.
 
Medium wide would describe my current stance as well and I feel the same. I stay more upright, sit down inside my hips and open them/my knees and really load up well. Makes depth easier too.
 
I feel best at that stance too. Too wide and hard to hit depth, too narrow and can't go heavy
 
Deload/DE

Bench: 3x8- 205

Kneeling landmine press: 12x3- 95

Cat back pull downs SS DB side raises: 20/20x4

Pull aparts: 40x3

Tate press SS straight bar curls: 15/15x3

Quick and to the point. Felt solid, except the jäger I threw up pre lift. Yep, I said it.
 
Went to the gym today. Did some cardio and core, nothing worth mentioning.

Smolov jr. starts this week. I'm ready. Any way in which you guys would recommend implementing deads/bench into a program which entails squatting 4 days per week?

I'm not looking to get stronger on those two, but I refuse to lose ground.
 
No deads. Bench 1x-2x-1x-2x a week for the month. Are you just doing the 4 week base?

Yep, I'm doing 4 weeks at least. It's possible I could do more, but I'm holding myself accountable to at least 4.
 
Do 4 but don't start until your hip is 100% man. Too early and you'll waste a month or more. No such thing as too late though.
 
My plan:

Next few days HAMMER mobility and stretching work. Loosen up AMAP, then start smolov Christmas morning. At the end of week 1, I'll assess if its advantageous to continue.

I like Country's idea of implementing bench. I'll stay around the 3-5 rep range on bench movements. Then when I do bench 2x/week ill incorporate a DE day. I'll stay hammering upper back and other upper body parts.

No deadlifting for 4 weeks makes me sad. I'm going to need to continue to hit movements that involve my errectors. I know squatting does, but it's not akin to DL's.
 
Why not just squat 3 x a week?

Squat after bench, squat on squat day, squat after dead or ohp
 
I understand where you guys that are saying to wait are coming from. I might be over empathizing my position. I only feel the pinching sensation my first few sets on squat. By the time I get to 225, it has almost completely vanished.

By a week in, I'll know if I can continue. If not, no smolov love lost. I'll keep going in some fashion.
 
Alright fella's decided to start smolov today. I took 90% of my 1RM and will be using that percentage throughout.

Squat: 6x6- 255 (70%)

The weight was perfect. Not too heavy, not too light. I hit all the prescribed reps.

Also, I'm going beltless. The ONLY time I will strap up a belt is if I know I can't do it without. Today was done without.

I spent an extraordinary amount of time loosening up before and after. This will be paramount to my smolov success.

This was set 6. I was pretty worn down by this time. I'm sure as hell not accustom to this much volume.

I should have pulled my elbows under the bar more. This helps me a lot. I'm sure I did better on prior sets. It's a learning process and I will get better.

Napalm: they were fine for this percentage. I just would like to stay a hair more upright so my upper torso doesn't cave on higher percentages.

Smoker: I know man, wtf. That's my buddies iPhone 5s. My iPhone 4S has great clarity.

Sean: no doubt. I'm going to tell my partner to keep repeating that que every rep.

Edit: I want to note that my hips feel great. All this mobility/stretching is going to pay off.
 
iPhone 5s has trouble sending vids and posting them. I taped robs comp, and it's crystal clear on my phone, but if I post it or send to him, it's grainy. It sucks

Texas =/= Dallas.


I understand you're from one of those tiny little states in the NE, but Texas is a big state with more than one city.

I am from (and currently reside) just North of Houston, which is a city that happens to have its very own football team.

True true. But id imagine there's a lot of cowboys fans around you cause their history compared to texans.
Bottom line is eagles gonna destroy the cowboys. Was actually looking forward to beating romo, but whatever, get to the plsyoffs is all I care about

You'll probably find more people in Houston that hate the Cowboys than you will find that like them. It's not like Houston has only had a team for a short time (Oilers, then Texans).


FWIW, I don't dislike the Cowboys (although, I do dislike Jones and Romo). My dad was a huge Cowboys fan, to the point where he would drive up to Dallas (not all the way, but close) so that he could watch the games because they were blocked out in Houston for the Oilers game. Lots of good memories for me with Football Sundays where Dallas played Philly.


I do, however, absolutely hate the Giants.
 
My pop was actually a oilers fan. Still sings. " Houston oilers, Houston oilers, Houston oilers number one, or something like that.

I believe he still got an earl Campbell jersey

Glad to hear Houston hates Dallas. That is similar to Mets fan not liking the Yankdeez bc of having Brooklyn Dodgers prior.
 
Or the fact that the mets wish they were the Yankees... Mets franchise is a joke

Just cause we don't got tumbleweeds, cattle marching all over the place, and a strict judicial system, doesn't mean pa isn't one of the best states! Roll tide!
