Kava Kava?

The extract does not contain the whole plant with all the additional protective properties. The ONLY negative side effect ever reported in Fiji to kava consumption is a scaly skin condition, but only at very high prolonged use, and it goes away with cessation of use.

So why did Europeans experience liver failure?

Go back and read the links I provided. Basically, they used 1) a very high potency extract, and 2) an extract from the leaves and stems (parts traditionally thrown away by Fijian natives - apparently they have known for a couple thousand years that those parts are dangerous.)

Hey, do what you like, but understand what you are doing. Make sure it is at least a root-only extract, with no leaves or stems...

has anyone tried the powdered root from iamshaman.com, it seems so cheap , what is the dosage on it

Powdered root? I use 1-2 HEAPING tablespoons. There is instantised powder, which you can mix and drink, and there is a more course powder, which I am using now, which you have to put in a cloth, immerse in water, and massage the powder in the water until water poured through it runs clear.

I buy a half lb for $10 at a local Fijian Market. Lucky me!

The ethnobotanicals paste is supposed to be root-only. Looks like a similar paste can be purchased at iamshaman: Invalid Link Removed

Elizzard, did you get the Kanna? Looks like that's what Darius was referencing earlier in the thread. I don't know much about Kanna (sceletium), but it is different than kava.

I find kava to have a tangible effect.75-150MG of kavalactones has a nice relaxing feel to it.Havent tried to many different brands, but I was very satisfied with olympian labs standardized extract.Ill have to try out some of these different sites I see in this thread.Im wondering though, why does it have the tongue numbing effect?

I have tried both the Kanna and Kava, and have reported my experiences with them both in this thread. Kanna for me = anxiety killer, very light noticible buzz at 700mg. Kava, only took 3-4 of the lower % capsules to get a feel out of it. Felt very relaxed and calm, tingly too. All purchased from iamshaman.
