Today I used KAATSU for blood flow restriction for the first time. These systems are awesome and I can't wait to try them on leg day!

I trained chest today and since I had the opportunity to wear these KAATSU cuffs I did some Tricep work at the end of my session. The pump was so freaking intense; painful to a certain degree. I am willing to bet that I will be more sore tomorrow and next day than my arms (Tri's)have ever felt. I also dosed 4 X-Gels, 1 scoop CreMax and 6g of CitMal before training which only enhanced the epic pump.

Just wanted to post this to let you guys know if you have the chance to train with a KAATSU system take advantage...truly awesome!

I wish my arms looked like this every day!!!

I Google KAATSU and in their site it looks like these things cost over $2000.00! Is that right? Or am I just missing something?

I'm not certain of the cost but it may be at that level. My college strength coach now runs his own business and I used these at one of his facility. He trains a lot of pro athletes and spares no expense when it comes to equipment. I did inquire what it would cost me for a set of cuffs and pressurizing unit but I don't have the quote yet. I'll let you know what I find out. As much as I enjoyed the system I have a lot of other ways I'd spend $2000.

Yeah, definitely.

It may very well be that these are designed for comercial use. It looks like they offer certification for their use. They might be catering to businesses and high end trainers.

So the KAATSU system that my coach has is a $6,000 system. They do make a system (non-commercial) that goes for $2,000. Out of my price range but when I'm in Detroit I will definitely take advantage of using these! I tried the leg cuffs yesterday and it was awesome! A little difficult to get used to wearing and some discomfort as they strap up very close to your junk. With that being said they function awesomely and I'm sore as hell today! Some great science behind these products and if you can afford it I'd say go for it!

Yes, I agree with you guys that the price is outrageous but I also think it's a superior product to a manual restriction system. With as much as I liked it, it's too expensive for me own a system and I too will stick with a manual option until systems similar to KAATSU become more affordable. I just thought it was a really cool product that I'd share with you guys...

It does seem pretty cool.

How is it superior? Not being a dick. Legit wondering what's the difference. I noticed you referred to manual restriction system. Is this an automatic restriction?

The cuffs strap to your arms or legs with an elastic strap that secures with Velcro. There are hoses attached to each cuff that your plug into an electronic/digital unit that pressurizes to a calibrated level. I'm not certain how it determines what level of restriction to apply because I did not operate the digital device or take the time to learn the science behind the calibration. I'm sure there are some details about that on the website but I have not read up on those specifics yet. So this is why I considered it superior to a manual system however you're paying a 100x premium for this superiority. I won't say that it's not worth it because I really enjoyed the product and I'm sure there is some science to debate over its effectiveness that I'm not knowledgable of. I will say, I just can't afford it.

Got a few more pics I snapped while wearing these things so I might as well share them with you guys...

Thats kind of cool. It actually compresses like a BP cuff or something. It looks like a tourniquet, and would definitely work in a pinch for that.

I use Occlusion Training Bands by BFR Bands, PRO Model Invalid Link Removed
Because of the elasticity they're comfortable enough and not as much at risk of over restricting compared to a tourniquet that some people are using which could be be extremely dangerous.
